output not the same as original psu

The maximum current output on this psu is 2aamps @ 15v and the original Nintendo charger is 2.6amps at 15v.

this didn't work on a usb c to hdmi adapter but the official charger did which means there is a difference between this and the official adapter.

last thing is that the usb c connector felt loose and was easily pulled out. I have returned it as I think it will eventually damage the usb c port on the switch.

Breaks after light use

Bought this a while ago, had kept it plugged in mostly - worked fine. When I eventually unplugged it, the top tri-leg fell off. I have never ever seen a plug break like this ever. Technically the plug still works because I can plug the broken part into the plug and then push in the plug .... I have salvaged it by using glue. It certainly is not portable anymore.

Really disappointed in the product. The one that arrived is not the same one pictured. Come with a foreign plug and adapter which at best is loose and makes a crackling noise... At worst doesn't provide any power to the uint.

Get what you pay for! I have concerns about robustness of this product long term; it looks and feels cheap, and the reinforced toggly bit joining wire to unit is noticeably thinner and inferior quality directly next to my official Nintendo AC adapter (see comparison photos attached, grey is Nintendo, black is Venom). Will update at later date on performance and durability, :)

UPDATE - downgraded product to 1* from 3*. Couple of months of minimum use and it's stopped working and bricked my Nintendo Switch which I had to send for repair. God awful experience, seeking refund under Manufacturers Warranty, fingers crossed!

Got to have a spare plug for travel, but this one is not that compact

None of these Ninendo Switch spare power supplies are cheap. But we needed one for our compact portable dock that we take on family trips to the holiday homes we rent or to our place abroad. After all I got quite tired of uncoupling the wires from the standard Switch dock and packing the fairly bulky original plastic dock.
The thing is that you really need a separate power supple and not just a mini USB cable with plug or in serial with an other device to power the Switch dock. This Venom power supply I got for a few pounds less than the usual price, but it was still an investment. Nevetheless it does what it needs to do, for the rest is sturdy and as unsightly as any other power supply. The other issue I have with console power banks in general is that they are sizeable. This one is a little different, as it just a large plug, but it is by no means compact. But I suppose that is on Nintendo.

Bought this because the genuine charger was making a high-pitch whistle noise that can be heard at night time, annoying!!

This power supply has no such issue, it's silent and works perfectly with the device docked and being used.

No issues at all here, it's a really good aftermarket replacement charger.

The adaptor seems not to be able to power the switch in TV mode as the switch constantly says use the correct power supply on further investigation it appears that this adaptor has insufficient amperage on the 15v output side. Am sure it would be fine for charge only. Have returned it and got genuine one.
