Product description
It's 1947 Hollywood, and Eddie Valiant (Bob Hoskins), a down-on-his-luck detective, is hired to find proof that Marvin Acme, gag factory mogul and owner of Toontown, is playing hanky-panky with femme fatale Jessica Rabbit, wife of Maroon Cartoon superstar Roger Rabbit. When Acme is found murdered, all fingers point to Roger, and the sinister, power-hungry Judge Doom (Christopher Lloyd) is on a mission to bring Roger to justice. Roger begs the Toon-hating Valiant to find the real evildoer and the plot thickens as Eddie uncovers scandal after scandal and realizes the very existence of Toontown is at stake! WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT is deliciously outrageous fun the whole family will enjoy.

If you have enjoyed watching cartoons since childhood, you'll love this. Definitely worth buying and watching, preferably with a group of family or friends to share in the laughter.

Zemeckis & Spielberg deliver once again

Nothing better than sitting down watching this film full of 80's child nostalgia. I still own a cushion and Roger Rabbit teddy from my childhood and never got rid of them because this film has a special place in my heart.
The Blu-Ray is a great testament to the film popularity with a ton of extras and goodies to feast your eyes on. I kept thinking would a 1080 upgrade be bad for a film like this as it could prove dated with the toons and actors mixing it up on screen but trust me it does not and if anything only shows how groundbreaking the effects were for its time and can still be appreciated today.
There is audio commentaries from Robert Zemeckis, Frank Marshall etc, mini Roger Rabbit shorts, featurettes, the deleted pig head sequence with added commentary plus a lot more to keep any animation fan happy. A great release for a great film

A long-lost favourite brought back to life!

I have fond memories of this movie during the early dating years with the girl I married later on! I had VHS video of this which my kids loved too but that wore out with use, so it was great to see this movie again. It's such a great example of what studios could do with hand-drawn animation and real practical effects - there's not a single big of CGI in sight. And the HD restoration of the print is a joy to watch!

Not the same cover art as advertised!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 May 2018Verified Purchase
The movie is absolutely a 5 Star feature..... one of the greats....
However, I’ve marked this product down as I was expecting the cover artwork of this to be as the one advertised in a sleeve perhaps...... however, I just received the standard jewel case with the standard cover art (I repeat, not the image used in the promotion for this item).... very disappointed....

4K not that impressive
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 March 2022Verified Purchase
This is not a review on the movie. The movie is excellent! I was Disappointed with the quality of the 4K. I thought the animated characters would look stunning but they are dull and grainy. If you have the blu-ray version you don't need this.

A classic movie finally arrives on Blu-Ray!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 April 2013Verified Purchase
Saw this movie yesterday and after 25 years it's still one of my favorite animated/live action flicks. Since everybody probably knows what it's about i'll skip the in-depth review and go straight for the technical bits;
Keeping in mind that it is a quarter of a century old I think they did a really good job restoring it. Picture is sharp without too much noise, some can be seen in darker areas of course but not enough to annoy. Compared to a deluxe edition DVD I also own it's much better, well worth the upgrade. The sound is DTS-HD MA 5.1, unfortunately not much of a difference from the DVD. Minimum usage of the surround speakers and subwoofer made it a bit of a dissapointment, but was compensated by excellent separation of the front and center speakers. The speech and Jessica's song was coming clean from the center and the sound effects from the front speakers, with some of it from the center without making the dialogue difficult to hear.
A highly recommended classic to everyone!
