I had my suspicions.
I was correct about one person in the story but not quite overall.
Great mystery. Great Author!
Don’t miss out on this one.

3.0 out of 5 starsNot a Psychological Thriller to me
Reviewed in Australia on 24 February 2022
I started this and thought it would be a good start to KL Slater's books but was disappointed. I had been told the end is exciting so kept reading thinking it must be different to what I had thought I had figured out.
I also thought that the daughter Tansy was portrayed as a lot older than her 6 years - more like 11 or 12 to me.
I have a couple more of her books as samples and will maybe try another one later but despite a good plot not well executed. Being her 1st her others may improve.

I usually like this author but this was very long winded. Not the best of work.

Slow and clunky read. Far too much detail that was unnecessary.I could only read 30% of this until I just scanned to the end so that I could move on to another book. I won't be bothering with any more from this author sorry.

Having read the reviews I thought this might be a great read….a real page turner.
How wrong was I ….I found this book so lame and unlikely and will not be reading any more of this author’s books.
If you enjoy mills and boons then this book will probably be for you.

3.0 out of 5 stars A great story

The story of this book I really enjoyed. However, I did find some parts of the writing a bit cliched and babyish. Towards the end I felt the author got muddled up if the characters were on the phone to each other or were talking in person. I would still read more KL Slater books. I did guess the ending but I do that with most books. I was however, surprised by Donna's character but won't say why in case I spoil it for anyone.

2.0 out of 5 stars Dull, predictable, left me cold

This moved at a snail's pace. There was too much unnecessary detail which added nothing to the plot and just served to pad out the narrative. The relatively minor characters of Pawel and Aleks were sympathetically drawn but the rest left me cold, including the main character, nosy Kate. The ending was entirely predictable, so no surprises there. I'll be giving the rest of this author's output a miss.

I really enjoyed the book, all the twists and turns and who done it,but the end just didn't ring true to me I won't go into detail no spoilers but if it was me I'm dam sure i wouldn't be enjoying Christmas with the people who made my husband's life a misery and drove him to his death, only a book I know but in real life just wouldn't happen.

Unputdownable and gripping! - no! This was an averagely interesting thriller which I did finish, but by no means unputdownable! Grossly over exaggerated description - very annoying because it leads you to expect so much more from the book.

I can’t believe how these authors get away with writing such unbelievable stories. This was all about a missing person who wasn’t missing, and the main person in it was a silly paranoid woman as is so often the case.

Although it was an easy and pleased read it was annoying the author could not be bothered to do a basic research.
Names of Polish woman was misspelled. Description of people, emotions a bit trivial and just brushed quickly. Overall good for a light read but nothing great. It is not a high class as Jo Nesbo is
