I am voluntarily submitting this review after reading this story as part of an advanced copy of a boxed set, of the series.
I have read a lot of supernatural and witches oriented books. I have enjoyed this first book of the series, setting the scene as it was to what the series promises. It is an adult content story, with sexy love scenes, as well as the witchcraft and madness that comes to the magical world.
I am plunging in to the rest of the series, hoping the standard of humor, quirkiness and fun continues.

I really enjoyed this book and would recommend the series/book. The chemistry was really good between the two main characters. Galen was a strong male lead. Loved the cats and dogs. My only compliant was that the book was too short. It was well written and covered everything, but would have happily read more! I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series, may even subscribe to this authors emails.

This promises to be a great series.
Life hasn't been kind to Dani.
First her mother's murdered and then her beloved Aunt.
Someone is out to destroy her family. Which only has Dani left.

You won't regret buying this easy to read series. I started with thinking I'd read just one book of the series and ended up devouring all in record time. Adult scenes, a great bunch of characters and an Author with a wonderful imagination make for a successful formula.

Short and sweet. Full of murder, mystery and more than a little bit of romance, this was a great introductory story to what I hope will be a fun new paranormal romance/mystery series.

Short but enjoyable

The day the witch stood still:
This is a quick read so trots along at a fast pace. Dani goes from knowing nothing about witches to finding out she is one, she doesn’t struggle with that half as much as I’d expect her too but then if I had Galen Wilde looking at me with those hungry eyes I’d welcome that distraction with open arms.
An enjoyable read, very likeable characters and a sexy scene that ramps the heat level to high.
Gone with the wolves:
The heat between Dani and Galen is as scorching as in book 1.
In this book they find themselves having to help 3 young shifters and in the process Dani decides what it is she wants to focus her life on besides mating her sexy werewolf.
An interesting and enjoyable short read that’ll leave you wanting more.
A mating most foul:
Not the mating Galen was planning but Dani does find out why her mother and aunt were killed and who’s hit list she is on!
Beau and Sawyer’s meeting was really sweet, I’m looking forward to reading more about them.
A very short read but enjoyable and entertaining.

Not for Me
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 May 2018Verified Purchase
I know the synopsis stated about the language used and although I don't bad language, I can put up with it if I think it pertains to the story.
However, I do think that the kinky sex should have been mentioned. It was anal sex that was described in detail, which I found very distasteful.
The story started really well, and I thought that I was in for a good read. I found it strange that there wasn't really much shock or grieving on arriving to find that the aunt, that was like a second mother. was dead. When I reached chapter six, the very descriptive anal sex only made me think I should have ignored this story altogether. I won't be reading anything else from this author.
Not my sort of book.

Good in a way

Coming into this book I was aware of how short it would be, so not a problem there for me. I was also aware of the language used, not particularly overdone and no problem as it can’t be helped.
The sex was a tiny bit extreme for my tastes but it worked in this book.
It was relatively well written with minor typos etc. The characters seemed a bit too quick in accepting things but that could just be down to the length of the book more than anything else.
If it had been a longer book this would have fleshed out a bit better but again not a fault of the book. It was certainly an interesting read though.

Loss, Murder and Afterwards

Dani Harper is unaware that she is a witch. Getting home from work and finding her mother dead with no apparent reason why.
Returning to Blueberry Island by ferry, she is shocked to see an old acquaintance Galen is now Police Chief, has come to inform her of her aunt's murder.
Add a demon hiding as an police officer, the nasty alpha of a wolf pack, who hates his eldest son, plus the younger brothers and her late aunt's cats and Galen's dogs before everything becomes clear and all ends well.
