- <br \><br \> This is a very practical and entertaining window into the baby's first year and a half. van de Rijt and Plooij have observed and found the vulnerable times in an infant's development that I independently came to in my book Touchpoints (Perseus). The authors' observations and practical suggestions are wonderful.
- T. Berry Brazelton, MD, professor emeritus, Harvard Medical School<br \><br \> The Wonder Weeks is the newly-updated go-to guide for understanding your child s mental developmental milestones (referred to as leaps )....Understanding the real reason behind crying and eating and sleeping problems is the only real solution parents need, and take it from us you ll be glad to be in the know.

Once I realized there was a reason and a positive reason, at that that my kid had suddenly turned terrible, it eased the pain of parenting through these times.

It contains so much more than explanation why your Bub is grumpy or acting unusual at times. I find the article about sleep cycles very helpful and personally am using the book more than the phone app just because I found the book easier to follow. Whereas the dates in the app can be confusing to some. Also info on what to expect with each leap is better explained in the book! Not mentioning extra info about background of how authors collected evidence and therefore wrote the book!

Useful in the first 0-10 weeks to understand why they might be making such a fuss about nothing. By the time they get to seven months, you could interpret literally anything your baby does as a 'leap'.
Feeds into mother's worries and the modern need to pathologise and categorise everything. Not necessary or helpful

This book is to help you understand why your baby is doing what they're doing, for instance why your baby may have stopped going through the night during a leap. There is a reason for those regressions, and the book tells you to rest assured your baby will come through the other side.
This book has been a lifesaver, and with each new leap my son goes through I devour that next chapter.
Thank you for writing this!
