Nintendo games are not region locked. Buying the cartidges from anywhere will work in Australia. However, if you want to purchase the games online then it is locked to the country where you are downloading the games from. ie. if you are login from Australia then you can only purchase via the Nintendo Australian portal unless you use a VPN service to mask your login.
