Fairly well - I don't have too much drama in the voice recognition part. I'd say a 90-95% success rate

No. Like the Gen 1 the clock displays in the lower left corner. There doesn’t appear to be an option to make it looks like the 5” screen

I've tried to find instructions on how to cast Youtube from your phone to the Echo Show 8, I haven't been able to find any that work.
It only seems to show Youtube through the Amazon Silk browser which needs to use WiFi. ( I didn't try tethering my phone as the WiFi for the Echo as it called for a reset.… see more

I've tried to find instructions on how to cast Youtube from your phone to the Echo Show 8, I haven't been able to find any that work.
It only seems to show Youtube through the Amazon Silk browser which needs to use WiFi. ( I didn't try tethering my phone as the WiFi for the Echo as it called for a reset.)
I also tried going into the Settings in the Youtube app on the Echo, like you can on the phone app, to set up through TV Code set up. Unfortunately the area where the TV Code should be wasn't there.
I could sign into my Youtube account on the Echo app but I couldn't use my phone to operate it.

Yes you can connect headphones directly via 3.5 jack ,wireless earbuds via blue tooth
