A relative newcomer to John Grisham’s novels, I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books in the Jake Brigance series, but A Time for Mercy was. next level, a totally enthralling and immersive experience, I couldn’t put it down. The depth of the characters and the plot made this book a truly captivating read. I’ve never visited America’s South, but having read this book, I feel (rightly or wrongly) I have gained a level of understanding of the culture of a small town in Mississippi. The detail of the courtroom proceedings made me feel as if I were actually there. I highly recommend this novel and I’ll be downloading my next Grisham novel in about five minutes time. I’m hooked.
