I can't really compare to other headsets, but the Quest 2 gives alot of bang for buck. I really enjoy the untethered experience, and if you want more power then it's possible to do PCVR over Oculus Link. When there was a flaw in my first headset (dead pixel), I was able to get it replaced and I was able to re-download my games (I think save states will vary from game to game though. I believe it depends on what the dev implemented).
Set up is pretty painless but just remember to get a Facebook account as this is a requirement for this headset. It took a day to activate a new account. I personally don't care for the Facebook integration. If you take a screen grab or video the Android OS will suggest you share it on Facebook, essentially turning the user into an advertisement.
Despite these annoyances, it's pretty impressive tech. Great resolution in the headset, no need for external sensors, a decent library of software. Just be wary of the stuff mentioned above. And take notes on what accessories you might need. Elite strap? Extra battery? Carry case? Oculus Link cable? Better fitting? Controller grips?
