I just love a rom-com, so reading this book was really a no brainer.
And when it comes to rom-coms, especially from the 90's, you cannot look past Tom Hanks for the leading man.
Our Annie though, is maybe just a liiiiitttle to obsessed with finding her own Tom Hanks, and couldn't see what was right in front of her. The reader could be screaming right into her ear and she just wouldn't hear it/see it, which frustrated me a bit.
Drew - well, he is just lovely, even when he is frustrating. This is the kind of guy we all need in our lives, me thinks.
This light, fluffy read was just what I needed yesterday.
I love Tom Hanks, and I love Drew. This book was just what I needed and will most definitely be reread whenever I need something cute to lift my spirits. The characters and their relationships are so lovable that I actually think I’ll miss them. Really enjoyed it.
This book was very expensive (presumably because it’s not published by anyone in the UK and has to be shipped over from the US) so I was very disappointed when the book arrived and it not only had a very flimsy cover but was completely filthy. I had to get a cloth and scrub it clean! Not impressed.
This book has amazing quotes about being single, meaning why being sure of what you want and waiting for it doesn’t mean you have unrealistic expectations.
Now into the story, Annie believes in meet cutes and a love so honest and pure as the many movies she’s seen but when she finally has her meet cute she can’t just believe it?
Yes, it was confusing. Annie, alongside her family and her gang of friends, was definitely living her very own rom-com but she couldn’t believe it because her hero, her Tom Hanks was an ACTOR!!!! Everyone was saying it and she was like “those things just don’t happen to me or in real life”
