i have read every book written by karen rose and love every one, so when i saw the name mary burton i thought i would take a chance and buy one to see if i liked it. i now have about 10 of her books and have read 3 of them and i cant get over how her style of books is like karen rose, so keep them coming and i will read them.
Well, Mary Burton is one of my favourite authors and this offering certainly did not disappoint. New lead character Detective Jordan Poe is an interesting character and the story breaks new ground from the author’s usual line. I won’t go into detail as it would become a Spoiler Alert, suffice to say, although I picked the murderer fairly early, the storyline was riveting.
This book had me gripped from the start, and when my kindle battery died I was not a very happy person 😀. The story was excellent, made you think of who was behind the gruesome murders. You can’t ever go wrong with Mary’s books . Gutted it is finished. But guess who I have just re-ordered another book by ..yep Mary 😀
I liked the fact with this story the protagonist cop on the case was made to deal with issues that was beyond her control and showed a side of having help when faced with a disability that impaired how she functioned in her job. It showed that no matter what with sheer determination you can achieve your goal even when it's against a psychopath that's intent on destroying you. I did however feel that the sex scene which wasn't overly described thankfully was just sort of shoved in our of nowhere even though you could feel something bubbling between the two main characters. I felt the bok didn't gain from it and was a bit unnecessary to the plot.
