Glad to get to the end of this storyline

After finishing this book, I went back to see what I wrote in review for the first 2 books, but it seems that I didn't write reviews for them. So instead I read some of the reviews from other people.
So, books 1 and 2 have a mix of reviews, some who loved them, and others who were struggling with the mix of assault, non consent, dub consent, emotional abuse etc. Honestly those people weren't wrong, which is why these books come with trigger warnings. I think that's probably why I didn't review them, I think I was conflicted between the horrendous treatment received and wanting to see how it turned out, but how do you leave a bad review for an author for the content included when you've been warned not to read it if you get triggered or find it offensive? I also struggle with reading books that romanticise abuse, but keep reading bully romance, go figure.
So I was relieved to hit book 3 where our main characters have turned a corner where consent is now a requirement and previous behaviour is no longer accepted.
In this book, we see the damage of the main characters and we see them learn how to be together. I'm glad that after the end of book 2 that not everything is perfect immediately.
As for the Ted storyline, I can't help but wonder if that was in fact planned from the start, or if plans changed. It just felt like there were maybe scenes from previous books that didn't quite line up, that were only settled by passing comments.
We do get to see an extended ending in this book for our main characters, which to be honest I was in 2 minds about. Once I'm at the end of a book I tend to get impatient and sometimes struggle to focus if it goes on too long. That being said, I think it was handwork well in this book though I did get a little distracted.
At the end of this book, there was an intro for the next book with a new female lead and 3 guys who may in fact be worse than the ones from this storyline. I ... will have to consider whether I'll read that 1 or not.
