About D. S. Butler
I’m Danica and I write under the names D. S. Butler, Dani Oakley and Danica Britton. If you’ve stumbled across this author page after having read one of my books, thank you very much for your support.
I write mysteries in many different flavours — some grittier than others. So far, I've written two standalone psychological thrillers: Lost Child and Her Missing Daughter. I also write a detective series set in London, which features one of my favourite characters, Jack Mackinnon.
The books I write as Dani Oakley are set in the East End of London. They are full of gangsters and strong female characters.

Books By D. S. Butler
DS Jack Mackinnon’s first outing as acting SIO on a prominent case is not for the faint-hearted. The young woman’s arms are covered with odd marks, and Jack is convinced they provide a clue to the killer’s identity. But the pieces of the puzzle are slow to come together, and when another woman is abducted, the stakes are raised.
There’s a method to the killer’s madness – but can Jack get to the truth before another life is lost?
A late summer heatwave seems to have triggered an unusually high number of suicides.
As the dead bodies pile up, DS Jack Mackinnon and the rest of MIT realise things aren’t as straightforward as they seem, and when similar letters are found at the scene of each ‘suicide,’ Mackinnon is convinced they are dealing with a serial killer. A killer who is determined to deliver his own deadly justice.
