About Ernest Dempsey
Hey, neighbor. My name is Ernest Dempsey, and I would love to be your guide on a journey of exploration, discovery, and the experience of a lifetime through the eyes of my characters.
I love history. Always have, as long as I can remember. And I also love literature. Same story with that. Most of all, I love archaeological thrillers like the ones I grew up watching in the 1980s: the Goonies, Indiana Jones, stuff with a mystery and a good treasure hunt. Now I live in the most amazing dream where I get to write those kinds of archaeological thrillers for a living.
I've also always had a fondness for Fantasy and Science Fiction. So, if you snoop around my catalog you may find a few of those stories too.
I attended Southern Adventist University from 1995-2003, earning a bachelors degree in psychology and a masters in school counseling. In my heart, however, I've always been a storyteller, an entertainer. So, after twelve years of working in the school system, I quit my job to write full time.
I've learned over the years, both in writing stories and in my experience, that life is unpredictable.
Cliché, I know.
But people crave a little predictability now and then, when the good guys win and the bad guys get their comeuppance. The most important thing, both in books and in life, is that the end can be easy to predict so long as the journey isn't. You may know how a story will end, or at least have an inkling, but if you don't know how it gets there, then that unpredictability makes it fun.
That's how I approach storytelling.
So, if you like twists in stories, you'll find them here. All along the journey. And maybe occasionally at the end. But one thing is certain; you will never be bored.
Come on this journey with me. I promise I will always work hard to honor your valuable time with exciting action, baffling mysteries, and intriguing history.

JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN'T SEE SOMETHING... DOESN'T MEAN IT ISN'T THERE.
Throughout history, kings, presidents, prime ministers, and treasure hunters have sought the fabled lost city of Shangri La. For centuries, this utopia has been relegated to fiction and lore, believed to be nothing more than a legend in the eyes of every historical expert in the world.Until an archaeologist discovers an ancient map carved into a sacred mountain in China, and is murdered because of it.
Now, Sean Wyatt and his team from the International Archaeological Agency must trace his work and solve a series of clues that wind through China, and relearn this fascinating country's history that could lead to the key to opening Shambala's gates.
But they aren't the only ones who seek the door to Shangri La. An old rival is chasing down the clues as well, financed by one of the Far East's most powerful underworld leaders.
Where Horizons End is the first Sean Wyatt novel in over a year from USA Today Bestseller Ernest Dempsey. It's a powerful story about courage, friendship, and salvation against impossible odds, and in the face of a possibility that defies logic, and science as we understand it--and with a twist ending that you won't see coming.
This is also the 21st book in the Sean Wyatt Adventure Series, an up-tempo archaeological thriller story that spans more than a decade, and follows a set of heroes on their personal and professional journeys against all odds, and all manner of villains.

The god-like power promised by the lost desert city of Zerzura is as frightening as it is alluring.Former secret agent Sean Wyatt and his best friend, Tommy Schultz, have never hunted anything like it. Unfortunately for Sean and Tommy, some very evil, very powerful men are also on the trail. Maybe the hero humanity needs is actually a monster.
At first, Dr. Gideon Wolf thinks the guy standing in front of him is insane.
Ten million bucks for what amounts to a glorified treasure hunt. Ten million dollars, this man offers him, to find a mythical amulet based on, apparently, some maps he printed off the internet and his outsize faith in make-believe.
Turns out the unwelcome interlocutor isn’t just some garden-variety kook. He’s Vicente Carrillo, the world’s most feared drug lord, and Gideon learns fast that the deal is nonnegotiable.
Held captive by Carrillo’s thugs in the Mexican jungle, Gideon escapes before the expedition . . . only to stumble into an ancient, hidden temple that contains the medallion itself.
The instant he touches the amulet, he knows why Carrillo wants it. It exudes a power that makes him feel invincible.
But there’s a downside. The medallion has disfigured him horribly. What was once the respected archaeologist Dr. Gideon Wolf is now a bloodthirsty monstrosity: part wolf, part dog, part man.
“El Chupacabra,” a cartel gunman gasps as Gideon bashes his skull in an escape.
Gideon’s amulet is one of seven, hidden by the ancients millennia ago and bestowing great responsibility on whoever finds, and dons, the powerful artifacts.
To fulfill his destiny as El Chupacabra, the Guardian of the Innocent, he must first learn to control his all-too-real animal instincts while protecting the amulet from Carrillo, who’s launched a private army straight at Gideon to steal it back.
USA Today best-selling author Ernest Dempsey again blends his mastery of history, myth, and suspense to deliver the first great series of 2022. Emergence marks the introduction of an antihero for the new age: Dr. Gideon Wolf, a man whom fate pushes through the door of history to fulfill a lonely, dangerous destiny.
After two successful terms—despite a series of political maelstroms—this humble Southern gentleman united the country behind a common purpose, strengthened America’s standing throughout the world, and kept his nation safe.
So, when Dawkins retires to his cabin in the Georgia woods, about the only excitement he’s looking for involves romantic dinners with his girlfriend and the occasional cold beer while watching his Atlanta Falcons.
Unfortunately, powerful past enemies he didn’t even know he made have been waiting—waiting for their chance to exact revenge for a series of vile grudges and dubious grievances. And despite his world-class security, they’ve tracked Dawkins down.
They drug him, kidnap him, and stash the former president all the way across the country.
And they pin the crime on former secret-agent-turned archeologist Sean Wyatt, one of the former president’s closest friends.
The news media, the feds, local cops—it seems everyone is hunting Sean, and he barely escapes the dragnet as he races to save his old friend.
But this will be no mere rescue mission. The kidnappers, hungry for power as well as for retribution, order Sean to find them perhaps the world’s deadliest secret weapon, the most lethal force in antiquity, hidden by the nations of the world for fear of its awe-inspiring destructive power.
To solve the riddle and save the former president, the kidnappers give Sean just one week—an impossible task to evade a nationwide manhunt and solve the most dangerous mystery of his life.

It seemed like a great way to bank some cash, travel to exciting destinations on his boss’ dime, and keep under the radar of some very bad men trying to kill him.
But Dak has traded one deadly set of problems for another. He might be making bank in his new career, but each country he visits is chock full of entirely new groups of heavily armed men aiming to stop his work and put him in a body bag. Dak might have traded his combat fatigues for jeans and trainers, but he’s still getting shot at for money.
Now in India to save a stolen idol and rescue the Mumbai museum curator protecting it, he’s got to duck Russian mobsters, sidestep an Indian casino boss who wants more than just his time, and distract a local police force who seems to be as incompetent as they are clueless.

USA Today best-selling author Ernest Dempsey is back with the frenetic follow-up in his Relic Runner series. This latest thriller, Book 2 in the new series, again expands Dempsey’s ever-growing world of spies, soldiers, and secret societies with a fresh adventure as dangerous as it is gripping.
Former Delta Force operative Dak Harper has one target left in his sights, but his old rival Bo Taylor won’t go down easily.
With time against him, Dak races across the Atlantic and arrives in Portugal to find his friend Will strapped to an explosive device.
The chain of events are set in motion. The gauntlet is laid.
Can Dak Harper survives, save Will, and challenge Bo to one final battle to the death? Or will Dak lose everything and everyone he cares about.
This is the first story in the Relic Runner Origin Story anthology.
Out of work and on the run after a shocking betrayal by his brothers-in-arms, the ex-Special Forces commando hasn’t stopped moving for months. He can’t. Some of the same soldiers who left him for dead in the Middle East still want his head. And as long as Dak's alive, they know they will never be safe.
Fate intervenes when an eccentric young millionaire offers Dak a gig hunting down stolen artifacts. The catch? His first assignment is to recover a priceless item that's in the possession of the most fear cartel boss in Peru.
This cartel doesn't just smuggle drugs, though. They have diversified into illegal gold mining, and human trafficking.
Dak finds himself caught between doing his job, and helping the people of the slums outside of Lima, whose suffering and squalor goes largely unnoticed by any developed nation's media. He learns of their plight through an unlikely introduction to a small boy named Hector. A bond is forged, and Dak knows he can't ignore what's happening.
With a corrupt mayor in the back pocket of the cartel, Dak is in for the toughest fight of his life to help the people of Lima, and recover an artifact that once belonged to the famed conquistador, Francisco Pizarro.

This digital box set contains the seventh, eighth, and ninth archaeological thrillers:
The Jerusalem Creed: Sean Wyatt and his sidekick, Tommy Schultz are in search of an ancient Jewish relic that has the power to tell the future. They aren't the only ones searching, however, and if it falls into the wrong hands, it could have catastrophic consequences for entire nations
The Samurai Cipher: At the close of World War II, the allies forced Japan to give up all their weapons, including ancient heirlooms that had been in families for thousands of years. One such weapon was the greatest Samurai sword ever made. Now Sean Wyatt must find it before a power hungry Yakuza lieutenant, or the nation of Japan could fall to its knees.
The Cairo Vendetta: This prequel goes back in time when Sean Wyatt was still working for Axis in the United States government. He is on a mission in Africa to take down a ruthless warlord who uses children as soldiers and slaves. While there, he learns of another secret that takes him on a journey he never imagined.
It’s not political gridlock that’s paralyzed the capital of the United States this time.
A ruthless killer is assassinating members of Congress, leaving authorities with neither clues nor hope to stop the slaughter. Fear grips the city as the federal government grinds to a halt.
So, where are former government agent Sean Wyatt and his sidekick, Tommy Schultz? They’re thousands of miles away in the middle of the Mexican rain forest, leading a private mission for one of the congresswomen targeted by the murderer.
The congresswoman is convinced ancient documents in her possession hold the keys to a new world—a golden age without murder, scandal, or lust for power.
Sean and Tommy should be so lucky.
In their quest to solve another ancient, deadly series of riddles, Sean and Tommy take on Mexican drug cartels, counterrevolutionary guerrillas, and shady mercenaries—and learn that, yet again, nothing in either the modern or the ancient world is what it appears to be.
In his grittiest thriller yet, Ernest Dempsey again thrusts readers into the heart of the global criminal underworld. Swarmed by spies, shysters, and professional slayers, Dempsey’s vision of international treasure hunting would send even Indiana Jones running for retirement.
Some things defy our concept of history.
When Father Carlos Crespi died, he left behind a treasure trove of artifacts from all across the ancient world. These artifacts should not have been in the Western Hemisphere. How did these artifacts from ancient Babylon, Assyrian, Sumerian, and more arrive in the possession of the natives in South American thousands of years ago?
And what other secrets did they hold?
The thrilling sequel to The Secret of the Stones sends former government agent, Sean Wyatt and his sidekick Tommy Schultz from the deserts of the American southwest to the hills and jungles of Ecuador in a perilous race to find the mysterious lost treasure. The treasure is somehow linked to the legendary Lost Chambers of Gold that has remained hidden for thousands of years.
But the chambers hold a deeper secret, one on which an evil mastermind has his sights set.
Along the way, Sean and Tommy find ancient clues that lead the way to the next of the lost chambers, and with a little help from the beautiful Adriana Villa, they may be the first to reach it. The Cleric's Vault is Ernest Dempsey's second book into the genre of thrillers and mysteries, and is one of his best sellers. This story takes the characters across the southwestern United States and into South America on a wild adventure that, if not kept suppressed, could cause major political and financial upheaval.
