I am not one of those people who collect books for coffee table display reasons......I read the books (gasp). Do watch the doco, and read this book either alongside or after. Great photos, though Linda's were not that flash compared to the other photographer.

Prachtig boek, waarvan ik op een later moment iets zal vinden. Voor nu volsta ik met de opmerking dat het beschadigd bij mij aankwam: hoekje van de kaft gedeukt, band gebroken en krassen op de voorkant. Oorzaak is een slappe, te ruime doos met een paar proppen papier als vulling. Dus ik heb het opnieuw besteld en wacht met spanning af.

I'm appalled at this shoddy book. Almost every single photo is blurry, even ones which we've all seen a thousand times, as sharp as can be. I have the original softback "GET BACK" book which was sold in select theaters back in '71 when the film was released, There was nothing wrong with those photos, most of which are in this book. A rushed lousy downmarket ripoff to cheat fans. Shame on Paul, Ringo, Yoko and Olivia. None of you need money. This is a slap in the face to fans, an insult. I'm disgusted.

I seldom regret buying anything Beatles related but this book is expensive and a complete waste of money. The photos are indistinguishable from any other photos you have seen from Twickenham and the rooftop and there are 240 pages of transcripts of largely inane and boring conversations in the studio. This is for the fans who have to have everything and don't care about the quality.

This book is a waste. Billed as the perfect companion to the upcoming Peter Jackson film (6 hours over 3 nights of television! Are you kidding me?). Everyone else can judge the film. But this book is nothing more than a batch of stills generated from the 16 mm film from the Let It Be/Get Back sessions, slicked up using digital technology. Then they throw in nothing more than transcripts of dialogue from the film (all of it difficult to read since it is “as spoken dialogue” and no one speaks in a complete sentence). And that’s it!! No additional material; no new information on them or the songs. There’s an introduction by Hanif Kureishi who tells us Peter Jackson is going to show us that “real story” behind Get Back. I hope the film does it, because this book surely doesn’t. I have to hand it to Apple and the remaining Beatles and the estates of the deceased Beatles. This is a franchise that get’s rehashed every 7-10 years or so with new, but not very impressive, material. It’s that new generation of fans ! Right? But, I mean, enough is enough. Everyone can do without this book.

Blurry Photos, Meh Dialogue

Wow, what a waste of time. The photo are small and blurry and the transcribed dialogue is mundane, where it's not actually inaccurate. For example, the book quotes John as kidding around that in the helicopter, the maharishi might have said "It's vagira" when actually in the Audi footage it's clear the line is "It's bageera". Nit-picking, maybe.
Why is there no transcription of the covertly-recorded lunch conversation between John and Paul? Why is there no transcription of the words exchanged when George quit? Or of Paul talking about what people will say in fifty years? These are key bits of dialogue pertaining directly to Beatles canon.

I returned my copy. It's not worth a dime. I'll spend my money if/when the "Get Back" video version is released.

I absolutely loved this book & am a huge Beatles fan. Unfortunately, the book came damaged. I ordered it a month ago and only recently opened it up to give it as a gift. The whole right corner is damaged & bent & wrinkled. I was excited to receive this book and for the price I thought it would be in excellent condition. While this book is amazing & long awaited, maybe purchase it somewhere else.
