5.0 out of 5 starsWatch the doco, read the book
Reviewed in Australia on 23 January 2022
I am not one of those people who collect books for coffee table display reasons......I read the books (gasp). Do watch the doco, and read this book either alongside or after. Great photos, though Linda's were not that flash compared to the other photographer.

3.0 out of 5 stars hmmmm…

Basically lots of tiny pics taken from the film and others quite nice normal size -never seen before pics- taken by Linda or Ethan Russel. The book itself is like if someone tells you an episode of The Simpsons…. a “meh” all around. As every Apple product, the quality is top notch. There is a looong introduction by someone called Hanif Kureishi , instead I would prefered an introduction by someone who really was there when all this happened ….

3.0 out of 5 stars Bit of a let down..

If this book had solely just been pictures and descriptions of the Twickenham studio sessions, apple office sessions and the rooftop concert, I think it would have been really good book..
But a bit of a rambling introduction not the Peter Jackson one and including all the dialogue in written form all the way through the book for me is way too much overkill..
I suppose it may float some peoples boat but I'm sorry, the dialogue ruined it for me..
The price is a bit cheeky too..
£30?

3.0 out of 5 stars Lovely but expensive

Like everything that comes from the (original) Apple organisation these days, this is a lovely item but expensive. And, just like the Anthology book before it, it's not comfortable to hold and read. The photos are wonderful (although beware that the glossy pages are unforgiving of fingerprints), but as an artefact, it's not very practical. If you want to read the transcripts, boy, you're going to have to carry that weight.

Great book, however disappointed from a collectors perspective that the book got damaged in transit.

3.0 out of 5 stars Libro deludente
Reviewed in Italy on 20 January 2022

Be (inizialmente chiamato Get Back)...

This is first official Beatles book since Anthology.
But don't expect the same level of information, photography or entertainment.
Poor layout, bad quality images.

It's a shame.

3.0 out of 5 stars Meh….

I agree that the picture quality is not that good but to be fair, these were photos taken in the 1960’s- over 50 years ago. I’d rather that they be a little blurry than being Photoshopped to death. How could anyone have known at the time that half a century later there would still great interest in these photos?
And I understand where Macca is coming from. He took a lot of heat for this being a terrible, unhappy time for the Beatles, that he caused it to be unhappy and it lead to the breaking up of the Beatles. That’s a lot to put on Macca’s back. If it’s not correct, I’d want matters clarified too if I were Paul.
The book is fine for $35. Nice coffee table book and lots of happy Beatles photos.
