To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I can not understand why Fry can write such an interesting book yet constantly infuriate readers by not using personal pronouns and using such bad grammar..a wonderfully entertaining book is wrecked by this and his constant hinting at homosexual activities of numerous characters is also annoying. I did not mind the light hearted approach to the many adventures and his sum up of the subject was superb but I do prefer good English
Every translation, especially from an Ancient language becomes a new work in it's own right. Every generation must find it's own voice in a great work of literature, otherwise that work dies. Stephen Fry in his latest books has given the current generation it's voice in Greek myths and heroes, well done.
I was beguiled by Stephen Fry’s light-hearted way of writing, which makes his considerable erudition easily palatable. Who ever would have thought that classical mythology could be so much fun? I was disappointed when I came to the end of the book, and I still wanted more!
