TOP 500 REVIEWER
5.0 out of 5 starsFunny optimistic triplet drama
Reviewed in Australia on 1 April 2017
This is not my absolute favourite book from Liane Moriarty, but it's still an excellent read. It has all the good ingredients of 'Big Little Lies' and 'What Alice Forgot' including love hate sibling relationships and lots of very funny moments. It feels so much like real life, almost like your own memories. Being one of several Irish sisters I have actually had a fork stuck in me by an angry sister, as happens in the wonderful opening scene.

Three triplets having their annual birthday dinner in a restaurant have an ugly fight that ends up with trips to the hospital. Gemma, Cat and Lyn are all facing life events. Cat is trying to deal with her husband's infidelity. Gemma is damaged by a past relationship and Lyn can't stop being a superwoman. The themes of having children, not having children, trust and betrayal run though this book. It's not a downer though, on the contrary it's very funny and optimistic. Highly recommended.

This is the third Liane Moriarty book I’ve read, and my least favourite. Couldn’t warm to the characters as I have before.
So much drama is rather tiring. Couldn’t stop reading it though, wanted to see how certain situations were resolved.

Slow burn. Kept waiting for something to happen but it never really did. I find this with many of her books.

I found this book very exhausting - it was like being a fly on the wall watching everyone, there was always a lot happening I nearly gave up a couple of times but battled on. Too much for me I'm afraid.

Light entertainment but it's amazing how involved you get with the characters. The characters are very believable flawed human beings. A dramatic light hearted family story.

My second book by author, not really what I like. Could not finish it quickly enough. But may read another of hers after I have read a few thriller books.

3 stars because it was easy to read and enjoyable. I chose the book because I like Moriarty's novels. I liked her other books more

3.0 out of 5 stars The mind boggles at the thought of raising triplets. Charming book
Reviewed in Australia on 26 October 2015
Charming to the end, zippy books with oodles of wit and charm. I am working my way through the authors titles, common thread, the reader feels so included in the story, at times i felt i was sitting at the restuarant watching the triplets have a hissy fit.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not her usual brilliance

I don't usually write reviews but thought it was worth it for this one as if, like me, you choose it based on her other books you will probably be disappointed. It starts with a row between triplets in a restaurant and we don't know what the fight was about. I thought this would be the twist, the big reveal at the end. This doesn't happen. In fact this book is a bit like watching a family through a window, the petty jealousies and arguments, in jokes and irritations. It's quite true to life in some ways (well true to mine anyway!). But there is no big ending, nothing exciting that made it all worth reading. I still wanted to pick it up and find out what happened to the sisters but had I known at the start it was just a series of events and no real story I probably wouldn't have bothered.
