To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
My 7 year old grandson loves this series. He has all the books and this one is going under the Christmas tree. He knows that he is getting it and is so looking forward to being able to read it while the turkey is cooking!!
Sadly the review I wrote for book 13 still again applies: "Yet again a book that doesn't really carry the story forward at all." My son waited over half a year for me each of the last few books and there's really no story line or changes to the story. I'm guessing with an infinite number of universes there will be an infinite number of meaningless books of trying to find a door in each.
I’ve been reading this series with my son at bedtime since it came out, and several books ago, the storyline completely derailed and his just gone in a totally off-the-wall direction. Yes, I’m an adult, and I realize I’m not the target audience, but my son feels the same way. After reading book 14 tonight, he told me that he’s just done with the series, doesn’t want to get the next one, and wants to sell 1-14 on Facebook yard sale.
Series started out clever, charming, and funny, but has just turned into a complete mess.
