4.0 out of 5 starsIf you read the one star reviews don't let them put you off this book
Reviewed in Australia on 21 May 2021
Now, I am a reader of one star reviews before I buy a book so did the same with this one. What I read there nearly put me off so I just wanted to address some of the things that were mentioned in those reviews.
1. If you don't like sex scenes don't read romance novels, this is a story about a woman who hires a male escort so I'm not sure what people were expecting. I know that there are the sweet genre Romance novels out there but I'm pretty sure that you can tell that this is definitely not one of those from the blurb so to criticise it for this is just ridiculous. That being said there was not nearly as much sex in the book as I thought there was going to be, yes there was a bit but it was in line with a lot of romance that I read and I read probably near to 200 books a year.
2. Several people mentioned Fifty Shades of Grey in their reviews which is the thing that actually nearly put me off reading this book. This book is in not related to 50 Shades of Grey in any way shape or form so completely disregard those reviews. If you are like me this is a good thing as in my personal opinion fifty shades is seriously overrated trash. Sorry if that offends anybody.
3. The last thing that more than one reviewer mentioned was about the author not having done her homework about Asperger's. If the reviewers had read about the author they would know that the author has Asperger's and for anyone who does know anything about it knows that it is called a spectrum for a reason. I don't think I need to say anything more about that.
So having gotten my grievances out of the way with the reviews I enjoyed this book very much and would recommend it .

Ill be honest when i say this bored me a lot, the plot was basic and kinda cringy at times but this book literally took me so long to finish, it was like a chore not a treat, ill admit the romace was a little cute but overall im a little disappointed because the hype was a lot, but still happy i read it.

This was not what I expected - so many glowing reviews, but I guess it just wasn't for me at all because I didn't like it.

I thought it was so cliche!

Meet Stella - beautiful but doesn't know it; sexy but doesn't know it; low self esteem although she's super smart and successful.

Meet Michael - gorgeous; mysterious past; talented; gorgeous; acts confident but has a low self esteem too; sacrifices himself for his family; gorgeous.

Stella has Asperger's; Michael also works as an escort and is hired by Stella to help her out with shyness and her fear of sex.

You can guess the rest, as it's sooooo predictable. I was sick and tired of reading how well they fit together (mentally and physically), how they both wanted the mock relationship to be real, how sad they both were knowing that the other didn't feel the same way, how gorgeous Michael was, how sexy his Stella was.

It just followed a typical romance, with all the tropes and cliches.

2.0 out of 5 stars A story with a lot of potential that didn’t work out

I picked up this book because I found the idea of a girl with Asperger dealing with a love story interesting and with a lot of potential. Unfortunately, to me the story is really thin and Stella’s difficulties seem to be only used to give an edge to the (many...) sex scenes with her raw honesty; “oh, I never orgasmed with another person”. I also found the descriptions of picture perfect, muscled, tattoed AND super respectful Michael a bit ridiculous, to be honest. I guess I see where the author wanted to go with this story but in my opinion it just doesn’t work out.

2.0 out of 5 stars Okay read

Stella decides she needs to find a man who can teach her more about sex. The whole subject of relationships and sex is so foreign to her especially as she is on the autistic spectrum. She books Michael a male escort and he finds her fascinating, she's brutally honest, says exactly what she thinks and he likes that she is different. Story is a bit thin in content but an okay read.

Not for me. I liked the idea of this book, exploring the difficulties autism can cause within relationships - but it didn’t really hit the spot for me. It ended up being more on the lines of 50 shades of grey (not what I expected) than something that really got into the heart of the subject matter. I found the writing quite awkward and cheesy at times which made it a bit of a slog to get through.

If you’re after a bit of cheesy chick lit, it’s fine, but not exactly the read I was after.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too much for me

I was so excited about this book. Unfortunately, for me it’s just too much.

It is very very steamy, which is fine per se. But I personally don’t like how possessive he is with her and irritates me so much.

I get what the author tried to convey and the parts on her syndrome are beautifully written, but he is just too possessive of her and I can’t stand that “she’s my doll” kind of vibe.

Not for me. I wouldn’t read it again.

2.0 out of 5 stars A bit too cringe

It has been ages since I've read a book quite as cringey as this made me feel, and I love a good trashy novel. It was a bit too graphic for me, and a bit silly, but in fairness I read to the end. ( Would never recommend)

Too much like 50 shades for my liking. Wished autism would have been explored more than their desires for each others bodies. Got boring very quickly for me personally. But if you like erotic novels you’re going to like this

It is like an Asian 50 shades of grey. The plot and skill of writing was awful. Read if you like cheap sexy books.
