A really good show to watch on a Sunday afternoon it hits the marks well where today’s movies are falling short because you actually believe Robert Redford is Jeremiah Johnson and the whole cast is brilliant, on a Sunday after lunch grab your family and sit down and watch this masterpiece.

One of my very favourite films - period.

Following Butch Cassidy and The Sting (both of which I liked), I was rather surprised to see Redford in such a film to be honest. But Redford is truly excellent in this film also.

What to say about this marvellous film?

To me, it is faultless and Sidney Pollack does such a wonderful job, as do all the other members of the cast. The settings are breathtaking, and the story is wholly engaging from first to last. I am horribly biased re this film, but I think everyone should give it a go - even if the genre is not usually to your taste.

The only thing that does puzzle me is quite why there appears to not be a purely English version of this Blu-Ray? What is going on? This is certainly not the only film I have been forced to buy with foreign origins, and the same truly baffles me?

And yes, there is a difference between the DVD and Blu-Ray versions - I have both - and I consider the purchase a good one.
Highest possible recommendation - even with the foreign origin

Bought the 2017 premium collection bluray ( with DVD & dig dload) edition. The picture quality and sound are absolutely fabulous. Makes the beautiful scenery pop totally making it one of the stars of the movie. One of my all time favourites. Highly recommended.

I love this film as much as Butch and Sundance,beautifully filmed by Sydney Pollack ,i bought it some time ago and came across the dvd version they don't make them like they used too,it's great on Bluray and well worth the purchase.I also bought the soundtrack to listen too and equally as good rich sound and it will be a movie i will never tire of it's a great story and who does not want to be Robert Redford?. Del Q is a character and also an appearance by Grandpa Walton (Will Geer) as Chris Bearclaw add's a great character line up.John Thomson.New Zealnd

This is the best Trapper film ever.Robert Redford plays Jeremiah Johnson,who fights to survive in the wilderness against the laws of nature and the Red Indians.He adopts a young orphan boy whose parents are slaughtered by Indians and takes a squaw as a wife. There are some real characters he meets along the way.This is a great story and if you have never seen it then dont miss out,it has not aged ,a great movie about courage and survival and respect for the enviroment.

This arrived very quickly. The downside was that it is a German version of the film. I'm not sure this was clear in the advertising. However, as there was an option for the original English language soundtrack, this did not affect my enjoyment of the film. Obviously the writing on the case is in German though!
