This was a very sweet story about first love. I thought the move was well made and for the most part the characters were as I had pictured them from reading the book. The book goes into a little more detail and is a little more emotional and so I like the book better, but is defintely worth the watch. I let my parents borrow the movie and the loved it. They had never read the book and thought it was very sweet. It was a lot better than they expected. My mother now wants to read the book.
I really liked this movie a lot. It was so simple and endearing. It really brought me back to my own childhood - trying to fit in, puppy love crushes, learning what role you play in your family and in society. The characters were very real and three-dimensional. I really enjoyed the grandfather's character; I felt like he really tied the whole story together. I will say one thing though; the actor who played Bryce's father could use some improvement. His lines were a bit off and he just didn't come across as believable to me. The same thing goes for the actor who played Juli's uncle. I actually had a good laugh at his part in the film; it was a nice try, but way off the mark.
Overall though, I really liked it and would recommend it!
I love this movie but when it arrived to me it looked as if a box cutter had sliced the back of the dvd case which was frustrating because when I slid it between other movies the flap would get messed with and further spread. But that was just a little mistake on your end... Movie itself is beautiful.
This is a sweet movie. It will definitely appeal to the younger teenage set. The relationship in the movie is cute, and I like that the characters change and grow for the better. I wish there was a little less foul language, though.
