Disappointing. In the end I couldn't see what the point of it was. The plot, such as it was, twisted and turned with no ultimate purpose. It had nothing to say in the end, and even the characters provoked little sympathy or interest. Big expensive deal about nothing in particular.

I had high hopes as I thought the story sounded interesting and the cast looked really good. What a disappointment. I found the dialogues very wooden and the acting accordingly did not take off, even Kate Winslet could not save this one. The story, in itself quite good, was lost in the way it was executed. I did enjoy the costumes and general 1930's setting, that was very well done. All in all, I wish I had not bought this.

Ordering and despatch prompt and trouble-free. However dvd video picture v dull and colourless with minimal audio volume. This all significantly affects viewing enjoyment so who is to blame for these dvd quality problems ?
