I couldn't believe it when the book car to such a sudden & climatic end. This is only my second Matthew Riley book - following The Seven Ancient Wonders, and I'm already a great fan.

I a great fan of Tolkien, JK Rowland's, CS Lewis etc but I particularly like the way that Matthew's exhaustive research brings a degree of credibility into this trilogy ( or more?) And if, like me, you like Egyptian & Greek mythology & history, you'll love the books.

I finally abandoned this book 80 percent through. Very unusual for me. Far fetched childish nonsense.

5.0 out of 5 stars Major cliffhanger ending

This and the following book, The Five Greatest Warriors, must be read back-to-back.
While other novels manages to conclude their portions of the overarching story, this one does not.
It reads more like the first two chapters of a six-chapter book.
It also brings the novel series into a serial format, bringing in elements from the first novel and teasing future plot lines.

Another exciting and thought provoking book. You'll certainly hope that if the end of the world is coming and the rich, powerful and greedy are in charge that a hero like Jack West will save us all.

This is a sequel to 7 Ancient Wonders. But unlike most movie sequels. Its better than the first. More action. More adventure. This story just keeps getting better. Needs a six star stone rating

3.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable, engaging, Indiana Jones-esque.

Fast-paced and full of action throughout the entire book. I hadn't read the first book in the series and was able to pick it up, however the backstory would have added to the full picture. I'd particularly recommend it to teenagers who like action or anyone wanting an easy, yet engaging, read.
