Good family fun

A lovely family game to play by the fire on a cold evening. Suitable for all ages. My 7 year old, 12 and 16 year old and indeed grandma all enjoy playing this. It reminds me of Pick up Sticks but is probably more fun. Quite tricky but enjoyable. You have to roll a dice to decide what colour rod to pick next to balance. It is more luck than skill, which makes it appealing to all ages and all abilities. My youngest is particularly good at balancing the rods in some precarious positions. A good old fashioned style game and best of all NO BATTERIES!

Bit dissapointing....

Great idea, great design and can be a lot of fun. We just find it to hard to really enjoy.

We saw this as a Jenga-type game for Xmas and were excited to play. You start off kind of working with each other to set a platform but then mischief starts when someone makes it tough.

My big complaint is the kinks in the rods are just the wrong side of difficult to make this a fun experience. The game is a real test for children which mine got a bit bored of quickly. Even when just us adults played it was a bit to much of a grind to be fun.

Great idea, nicely made just not enough road testing in my honest opinion.

Quick, fun game

Often in our house we look for a game that entertains us all and doesn't take an age to set up and it doesn't require a masters degree to understand the rules. Suspend fits the bill. Our 6 year old loves this and we often play as a family, sometimes taking it with us when we visit my grandparents in their late 80s. A game that we all know how to play, can enjoy and let out our competitive sides!

Avoid it and buy jenga instead

The idea is nice. A simple balance game; so simple that you really don't need rules to play it just balance the rods and try to not knock it over.

The problem is that it is trivially easy. For kids about 7 or 8 who may still have co-ordination issues maybe but not otherwise. I played this a few times over christmas; the other players were a dyspraxic 11 year old and a 13 year old and never once did anyone manage to knock anything over. Just to see how difficult it was to knock it over I resort to shoving the table when every rod was balanced. It required a substantial kick to make it fall over.

Nice idea but implemented very badly.

This year we had a theme for Xmas..... Bygone Xmases .....so I bought this game.... The 19/20 year olds enjoyed it so much, it was a pleasure to watch them "play" ...It got top marks from the young adults and a big round of applause from their parents and grandparents.... A game to suit all ages and genuine enjoyment. I'll buy it again...

Suspended is a great game. It's simple, portable, and fun. Moreover, the configurations are infinite.
The only problem I found is that the rules are very basic and, during the game, there may be some cases that are not handled.
For instance, if pieces fall should I complete my turn before putting my piece?
Can one put a piece on the straight part (not in the U) next to another piece?
Can we put a piece on the colored part?
However, I am really really having fun with it and I recommend it to anyone.

If there was an option to rate gameplay, I would give this 1 star. When you follow the printed rules, you take turns to hang the pieces and the person who is last to hang, wins.. the rules state to roll the die and if you don’t have the colour to take it from somebody else.. I would recommend playing it so that you HAVE to roll your colour, that way it’s not obvious who is going to use all their pieces and win.
