5.0 out of 5 starsNothing to complain about
Reviewed in Australia on 9 April 2020
Mainly using it for PS4 (MW, Apex, etc). Usually solo play, sometimes party chat with mates. Using it for WFH online meetings as well.

Sound is great, good surround sound. Comfortable to wear during long periods (my ears fit perfectly inside). Not too heavy. Workmates say the sound is clear, although I look and sound like I'm about to report a crash on the Tulla from the helicopter.

All in all - great price for this quality. Arrived almost a week earlier than expected (Melb west suburbs). Good accessories. Highly recommended for any use.

1.0 out of 5 starsNOT HAPPY!
Reviewed in Australia on 30 August 2019
While the quality of gaming sound in my ears is probably pretty good and the mic clarity is good, The CONS (negatives, down-sides) OUT-WAY these PROS!
1. The detachable mic feature. I thought this would be a WONDERFUL feature, since i hate the mic being there when I'm not using it! The 1st time I detached it and re-attached it, I noticed it was already looser!!! <-- this is terrible! I've seen seen many complaints that they fall off and get looser over time!.
2. With a CHEAPER headset (by LG)... about half the price, I never had problems with the volume that I couldn't fix but with this one, there seems to be no SETTINGS to change it - there aren't even Windows mic settings for volume when it's the default mic item! This is AWFUL for recording video of gaming! <I had to do a work-around where i reduce all game sounds and reduce volume of GAME 'recording' while maxing out the volume of MIc recording at the recording sfotware end (NVidia/Geforce Experience aka Shadowplay)....VERY frustrating
3. The STUPID, POINTLESS dongle along the cord for headset Volume control (why do I need this??), gets snagged then rips apart, has a pointless 7.1Surround button, which i often find OFF (again, WHY have this option there) and a Mic volume which when i start a new game and ask other players, find that it's increasing my volume....I.e. My mic volume wasn't at Max for some reason...?...
^ This is all the opposite of what you want in a gaming headset and certainly not what I expected in a headset TWICE as expensive as the LG one I was using that DIDN'T HAVE THESE PROBLEMS!

2.0 out of 5 stars The audio cable keeps tangling up and is very annoying
Reviewed in Australia on 10 November 2020
Colour: Gun MetalStyle: WiredVerified Purchase
I've had this headset for just over a month now and the audio cable keeps tangling up even if I straighten it out. This creates issues as the available length of cable away from it's connection to the laptop/device becomes shorter with every twist the cable makes. And it doesn't take long for these twists to occur. I can't replace the cable either as it's fixed to the headset. If I had the option of returning this product I most certainly would have only because of the trouble the cable has given me. Otherwise the headset is alright.

2.0 out of 5 stars NOT as good as the wired version
Reviewed in Australia on 21 November 2021
Colour: RedStyle: WirelessVerified Purchase
I have the wired version of these and they are far superior, the wireless version is bad compared to the wired. The sound quality in these wireless ones is just terrible nowhere near the sound of the wired ones. The sound seems like it is inside another room in the headset, I have the wired ones on 34% at all times and it's a good balance the wireless is up in the 70% range and still sounds muffled, Not only that it sounds like the ocean is in the background a constant background noise. They do NOT sound the same as the wired, I have put these back in the box and am returning them as they are either busted or just plain garbage.

2.0 out of 5 stars Discomfort Rating? 5 Stars!
Reviewed in Australia on 15 October 2020
Colour: Gun MetalStyle: WiredVerified Purchase
Though Sound and Microphone quality are fine, design and assembly introduce some real head-scratchers (what you have to do after ripping the set off when your pain threshold is exceeded).
To be exceedingly fair, this set may be OK for someone with a small head and ears, like children. Straight out of the packet, the design has the earpads clamped together by the arc of spring steel. This means the wider they are forced apart, the greater the force clamping down on your skull. So, the bigger your head, the more pressure. Short of taking the risk of bending parts of the frame out of shape to relieve the pressure (voiding warranty, I am sure), you are stuck with it.
To add insult to injury, the next problem is that much of this pressure bears down on your ears, not your head. Unfortunately, as elegant as an oval looks in design terms, the ear is NOT oval shaped! (unless you are a Vulcan...) So, again, unless you have very small ears, the cups will be squeezing your ears into your brain (or so it feels after a long session).
To try to alleviate the discomfort, I swapped the faux leather pads for the supplied cloth alternates. What a design joke. It took half an hour of pulling and squeezing to get it done. The genius designer did not just specify a stretch rubber-type retainer that slips over the frame, but, critically, a very narrow channel, about the thickness of a finger nail, that it must slip into. This made the job of simultaneously stretching and controlling the retainer, while trying to get it to slip into its narrow resting place a real nightmare.
These headphones were three times the price of my last ones (from a different maker) that I could wear with no issues for hours (sometimes forgetting I had them on). These new ones are immediately mildly uncomfortable, rising to extremely uncomfortable after an hour or so. My old ones lasted me the better part of a decade. I cannot imagine that I will tolerate these for long. Sometimes, even a friend's recommendation is not a reliable review. (I am too polite to tell him what I think, but as I have said nothing about them, I suspect he knows.....)

My mic cuts out after a few words. I pretty much can’t say a sentence without it cutting in and out at least once. Updated hoping it would fix it but didn’t.

2.0 out of 5 stars Als Headset nicht tauglich
Reviewed in Germany on 7 September 2018
Colour: RedStyle: WiredVerified Purchase

2.0 out of 5 stars Decepción brutal.
Reviewed in Spain on 6 November 2018

No viene nada.

2.0 out of 5 stars Already broken.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 December 2020

I bought this headset at the end of August after a lot of my friends raved about it to me. The sound quality is brilliant, the microphone is very clear and the headset itself is comfortable, the headset itself is really, really nice.

However, there is one big flaw with it; the wire. The wire is a long braided cable wire and constantly twists up, I have to unplug the headset and untwist it at least three times a day or it knots up and becomes a mess to deal with. And now, after untwisting it for what feels like the 50th time, the microphone has completely stopped working. I can only assume a wire has gone, because the headphones are still working fine, but the microphone is completely dead I can't get any sound out of it at all.

For the price of this headset it should've at least lasted a year, yet I haven't even gotten 4 months out of it before it's broken. Considering the hassle I had getting it delivered in the first place, I cannot in good faith give it anymore than 2 stars.

2.0 out of 5 stars Auriculares gamer? No es su punto fuerte
Reviewed in Spain on 1 December 2018
Colour: RedStyle: WiredVerified Purchase

2.0 out of 5 stars Cheapish but you pay for it
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 February 2021

I was using higher line of product before from Sennheiser for example, bought this one because my flatmate had a previous version that was pretty good.

What I like: The price, the shape/look, the build is really good it feel solid

What I hate: The cable, it is a ridiculous mess.. Maybe because I live in a wer country (ireland) but this stuff is just tangling around itself all day long and I need to clean that mess every day. It is so annoying !

What I dont like: The microphone is SOSOSOSO low if plug with the USB dongle need to install a new firmware that does not help much and then play with an 3rd Party equalizer to improve the gain of the mic but the trade off is some cracking in the voice when you speak.

Conclusion: Cheap compare to better headset but with really annoying trade off, next time I will invest more to get something that does not bother me every day.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not what it's all cracked up to be.

OK, so I'm going to make some Kingston fans cry here and say, I'm not quite sure why this is so highly rated, it's pretty obvious the version 2 atleast is a console cash grab.

Pros:
Great sound quality (without surround)
Fantastic Mic
Strong bass
Comfy
Well made in some aspects
Nice packaging, feels premium

Cons:
USB Soundcard has no drivers, no options to tweak the surround.
Surround is garbage
Braided cable makes a big noise in the ear cup moving it
Cables are too long (yes too long)
Headphones + Soundcard are like 2 different products "thrown in" together.
Whilst the MIC is good it's kinda quiet, no option to boost in Win10

I replaced these with some cheap LG Headphones, and whilst they have the same braided cable issue as the HyperX (making a noise in the ear cup, which other headphones don't have) they were 1/3rd the price (G430 on offer) with USB sound which is actually configurable. The Mic isn't quite as good, but overall I'm far far happier.

For the Price and the reviews, I cannot recommend this headset, it's been returned for a refund. The G430 doesn't feel as well made (feels flimsy in comparison but that's how it should be at the price points) but, really you're paying for a name. If they had some options for the USB sound then I may have kept the headset, but they didn't and the 7.1 was just trash.

Perhaps you'll have better luck than me, I will say the Kingston support was garbage, utterly useless, not once did they admit the headset "should" be as it is, the only thing they suggested was to return it as it "sounds like it could be a faulty headset", useless. Waiting 2-3 working days for a 1 liner response is so bad!
