I've tried this both on the dash and the windscreen. I much prefer it on the windscreen as it's a bit tall to comfortably fit on my dash, but the adhesion is great either way, and the arm is very stable in all positions and angles. The magnets provided are really strong too, more so than other phone holders I've used in the past. Great product!
I have only had this in car phone holder for 2 days but I can’t recommend it and here are the reasons: not long enough arm for some windscreens due to the current range of phones being the size they are and windscreens are curved / leaning into the car and the phones have to be angled the other way so you can read them (car windscreen = / and phone angle = \ ( if this makes sense ).
the magnetic connection is not strong enough for larger phones when driving over UK’s bumpy roads and this makes the phone fall off again larger phones and their weight.
Most new and modern phones use wireless charging but the magnetic design of this holder makes this no longer possible due to the metal disc increasing the thickness. I have 3 different wireless charger stands and bedside flat disc in my house and all have issues now unless I remove the phone case, which Is a pain.
The holder will not stick securely on the dashboard as most cars do not have a smooth enough one and more like a fake leather / plastic one with small lines.
Conclusion the hunt for the perfect holder is still on and here are some important points to consider:
not magnetic due to wireless charging issue longer arm with better adjustment range and angles due to bigger and heavier phones one handed in and out operation is a must. not powered by self clamping sensors due to power loss when taking out the key makes it difficult to remove the phone
