No Alien Language Forced Subtitles

No extras, film just plays over and over again.

Picture and sound quality (DTS-MA 5.1) are good but where it falls down is there are no subtitles for when the aliens are talking in Tenctonese.

I have the R1 DVD release and it has both forced subtitles for Tenctonese and an option for those hard of hearing.

All of the movies which explain the series' arcs are not in this box set...which is a shame because they cancelled this series way too early...eventually, (liken this word a lot), I would like to own and see all FIVE movies, however the price of the movie set is RIDICULOUS too expensive for my budget...will have to wait for the price to drop to reasonable levels...

As a scifi geek I absolutely love this movie. Original "alien" concepts and great story, BUT I am exceedingly disappointed in two things. First the Bluray quality is really not much better than the DVD and second there are no subtitles when the aliens are speaking their native toungue. I have seen it enough that I know the crux of what they are saying but for someone who has not you will be a little lost. The DVD had them.

The movie is great. But the sound of the character's dialog was very faint and sounded as if it were recorded with a video camera shooting a tv screen. It was very hard to hear because the rest of the sound was fine, so the background music and other sounds were at full volume while the dialog was hard to hear it was so low. Very poor quality. I'm really upset because this was a favorite movie of mine and I was really looking forward to seeing it again after so many years. The three stars are for the movie alone, because I'd give the sound quality one star.

This version does not have the English subtitles shown when the newcomers speak to each other. If you have never seen this movie them those moments are a mystery and you miss out. That is why I am taking off 2 stars.
