Excellent 60W USB and USB-C Charger

I needed a second charger for my brand new 2020 macbook m1. The official apple one is very expensive and it doesn't even come with additional ports so I looked at alternatives. I've owned heaps of Anker products in the past and found them to be very well built and excellent value for money.

I now use this to:
- charge my 2020 MacBook Pro M1
- charge my Samsung Galaxy Note 10+
- charge my Nintendo Switch

I highly recommend this.

Does not charge a MacBook Pro or iPad Pro

I was hoping this power supply would offer the same performance as the Apple one plus have some useful USB charging ports. Unfortunately it doesn't do either of those jobs. The supply current to the MacBook Pro is limited to 5W which is nowhere near enough to power the laptop while in use. Instead the battery discharges. I was also using a USB port to charge an iPad Pro as recommended by the manufacturer, but that also does not supply enough current to keep the device charged while in use. I contacted Anker about this and did not receive a reply.

It's really 30 W + 30 W

The description says it will "charge any USB-C device at top speed". It certainly won't if that device needs more than 30 W, as the output is split 30 W to USB-A and 30 W to USB-C. That means it will charge a 2018 Macbook Air fine, but not a Pro.

Note that this newer model of this charger only supports 30W via USB-C (it used to provide 45W)

I also have a previous model of this charger, which provided 45W via the USB-C. Note that this model has been changed to only provide 30W via USB-C, which isn't enough to charge a Macbook Pro (it'll keep it alive though).

Had I realised at the time, i'd have returned this - I've no issues with the product or the quality, and bought off the basis of my original one. Given I rarely charge USB-C and USB-A at the same time, 30W just doesn't meet my needs.

Described as delivering 60w, then mentions that it's simultaneous 2.4A circuits (which is 2 x 30W) Why switch values here? Some of the other language here about charging the "new Macbook" (Which model?) at full charge is vague at best.

Bottom line: This'll charge most devices up to 30w, all but the lowest powered laptops require more than 30w. Description really needs to clarify this point.
