5.0 out of 5 starsFantastic Book

This book really was a great surprise on how much I enjoyed it. When you find a new Author you never know what to expect, but J.B. Turner has done an amazing job with this book. I like his easy fluid writing style, and the entertaining plot he has put together. I also really like Jon Reznick as a character. He’s certainly a tough guy with some amazing skills, and he lies so easily when falling into any persona when he needs to. Jon Reznick had the type of job where he could be relaxing on minute, then dropping everything to board a plane at a moment’s notice. Not quite a normal job either, as Jon is a paid assassin for the Government. After years of being a Black Ops assassin for Delta Force, he continued this line of work after leaving the military, where he uses his special skills to liquidate enemies of the US all around the world. His next job his handler Maddox sends him on, is to kill Tom Powell, a 59-year-old that was considered a security risk, and for Jon it seems pretty straight forward. Get in, kill him, leave. The only stipulation is to make it look like a suicide. However, when Jon is about to kill him something makes him check the dog tags around his neck and it seems he doesn’t have the right man. However, it’s not Tom Powell, but a scientist Frank Luntz. Someone out there wants Frank as well, and they aren’t afraid to kill to get hold of him. They manage to kidnap Jon’s daughter Lauren as a bargaining chip. Assistant Director Martha Meyerstein from the FBI knows that Jon has Luntz, and she’s been tasked with bringing him in. The body count is mounting and Martha isn’t quite sure if Jon is responsible for all of them. I was pretty happy to see that this character has been turned into a series and there are another two books after this one. If you enjoy Action Thrillers, then you will certainly enjoy this book. It’s well worth a read.

3.0 out of 5 starsStory line is good
Reviewed in Australia on 20 October 2016
Story line is good and the character developement reasonable which gives this three stars, the telling of the story felt stifled no where near as engaging as a jack reacher story or the grey man series. All in all readable but not enough to make me want to buy further books from this author unless i run out of good ones.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fast paced thriller
Reviewed in Australia on 26 July 2018

This is a popular genre of the quick thinking, highly trained, government operative - a Jason Bourne type - who removes bad guys, no questions asked. Jon Reznick is a specialist, and despite the black nature of his activities, he's a likable character because we believe that deep down, he's one of the good guys. He's given a target to eliminate, but just before the deed is done, Jon realizes that something doesn't make sense.... And from there we go on a complicated adventure, with thugs, corrupt politicians and ultimately, terrorists intent on doing serious damage to America. Along the way his daughter is kidnapped, which makes it all very personal. The style is very elaborate, every action is spelled out in great detail, which creates an immediate, gripping atmosphere. I enjoyed this fast paced adventure.

3.0 out of 5 stars A promising read

This was a nice read and a good but slightly common sinister plot. It was let down by some regular over writing ie not letting the story move you but obviating what you should think.. some dialogue fell into the same trap a bit like those oldtime classic Hollywood movie scripts...a bit more on the details of the detective work would have added greatly....get past those flaws and it was quite gripping and could be a 4+ rating

Jon Reznick is an ex-marine Delta force commando and a hit-man for the government. He takes out people identified as enemies of America. His latest job is a hit on an American, which is unusual and a first for him. But something goes wrong, the target is not who he was told, and he finds himself on the run with the man who was to be his hit. From then on the action was virtually non-stop. In my opinion, this is a top-notch action thriller. I gave it 5 stars out of 5.

I found this a very good story and at times didn't want to put the book down till I read the next chapter. Being a slow reader and digesting ever word this quite often took me into the late night. I noticed that this is part of a trilogy so am going to Aquire the next issue thanks for the very interesting tale

Well written fast moving. Not to complicated with limited use of initials for agencies.
Interesting about all the experts the FBI has access to.
A bit similar to other Maverick heroes but different enough to enjoy.

Fast moving with well developed characters. A number of disappointing faults and non sequiturs in the story line which could have
been avoided by some decent proof reading but still enjoyable enough. I would try a nother of Turner's efforts.

I read the sample, and it seemed an okay read, and in places it was, but in otters I had to suspend belief. Okay, its set in America, and we all know things are different there, but!
I've purchased the next two books,so hopefully they will be an improvement
