The package arrived on time and in good condition. Assembly was easy. I set it up the day it arrived, and rowed for about 5 minutes. I was going to change the resistance, and noticed there was a small pool of oil beneath the cylinder. I stopped using it, and the oil kept leaking out by dropfulls for the next few hours. I emailed Sunny's customer care, and received a quick reply. Unfortunately there is no warranty on the rower because I live in Canada. Sunny did offer to waive the cost of a new cylinder if I would pay shipping, which amounted to fifty five dollars.
I m 6.0 feet tall with 37" inseam, and the seat has still 4" room while legs fully extended. Perfect design for the smallest footprint! while a tall guy still can use it! Light enough to be lifted easily and store it in vertical position against the wall after your workout. The material used and workmanship is perfect. No complaint on quality. It is very strongly made, in smallest as possible. Full motion arms are definitely a good advantage. During the workout, It is very comfortable, stable, and you feel very natural, like your natural walking. BUT ... BUT the lack of enough resistance is a GAME CHANGER! In all aspects, including price, this rower is PERFECT except the RESISTANCE. I m 60 years old, and a skinny unfit weak guy, and until resitance 11 was useless for me. Only on resistance 12, I feel mildly chalenging. Considering this cylinder could not be used more than 20 minute, I can say on resitance 12, for 20 minutes I can do a mild workout which is acceptable to me, but as soon as the cylinder gets a little worn-out, or I get a little fit, this soon becomes useless for me. My advise is to stay away from any cylinder type of rower, and if you have no choice because of limited space, go at least for a one that has two cylinder, instead of one cylinder. (because a single cylinder is not able to provide enough resistance). I like the design on this much better than any other manufacturer, and over the two cylinder ones. I recommend Sunny health, to use this great design RW5639, without changing anything, but to use two cylinders at same location they used a single cylinder. If I was a welder I could do this modification myself. My complaint is not against the quality of Sunny Health product, It is against the technology being used and this issue also applies to any other manufacturers who use Cylinder type for resistance, otherwise Sunny health did a great job on making the this comparing to any other manufacturer.
I may never know whether this machine is good or not because it only lasted 2 days. On the second day of use I noticed a wobble in 1of the preassembled parts. Part number 13 a fiber bearing had disintegrated and bunch of fiber lay on the floor beneath the machine. Stripping the machine I found the other bearing was cracked. So I got amazon support contacted, they very quickly agreed to a small partial refund. Which I accepted believing that new bearings would be sent to me in time. I have had several communications with Sunny Health to no avail. I still have a lump of metal on my gym floor that can't be used because of 2 fiber bearings.
Perhaps this review will get their attention and I might get my bearings it has been a month of trying to get or purchase them.
this is pretty great for the price and I enjoy how truly full body the workout is and how great this has been for my shoulder stability and posture. however, the big flaw is that this is made for someone probably 5'6"-6' and the arms are not suitable height for someone much taller or shorter. I'm around 5' and the top of the arm would smack me in the chin if I let it, and the comfortable grip for me is way down on the straight part of the arm. If you are really tall you may feel you don't get good leverage because your grip is too low and you won't work your shoulders as intended. I will be having the arms shortened at a metal fab shop but they could stop pretending everyone is the same size and just offer this in S/M/L arm lengths or make the arms adjustable.
but now after only very moderate twice a week use for a couple months, it squeaks uncontrollably despite tightening all screws and it's completely infuriating to use because the squeak is so annoying. you get what you pay for with this I guess
