I’d like to warn fellow aussies that this adhesive car mount did not survive our hot summer and when the 35 degree days came in direct sunlight it lost its stick and fell while I was driving. I couldn’t get it to re-stick properly even after following their advise to rinse the sticky gel. Being in the direct sunlight also made my iPhone overheat and go into emergency shutdown mode, I had to hold in front of the air conditioning vent for five minutes until it rebooted. After that I hoped to extend the mount arm so I could hang the phone in front of the air vent but it wasn’t long enough to reach.
The unit itself is made entirely of black plastic which makes it feel cheap, but I can confirm the clasping mechanism works and gives a sturdy enough grip. I used force to fit my iPhone 7/8 in its large rugged case (Griffin Survivor) but I wouldn’t recommend this. I suggest you will need a thin case or no case at all. I reckon it would be a struggle to fit an iPhone Plus in with a decent case.
A huge waste of money. It’s going in the trash. I am now shopping for an air vent car mount.
