How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 stars Waterproof...so far!

The socks that arrived were rather true to size.
if you're thinking the socks will feel like normal socks, think again. They're a little heavier and have a similar stiffness to neoprene. They do not however feel like that material.
In the advertisement, they show a sock in a bucket of water. I thought I would try something similar to test the waterproofness. I put on thin light grey socks and then slipped these Randy Suns over top. I then stepped into a bathtub with ankle-deep water. Stood there for about 5 minutes walking and stomping around. After that time I got out of the tub and dabbed off the water from the top of the sock and then removed them. The light grey cotton socks underneath were bone dry! So the extreme test worked. They are indeed waterproof. Now would they still be waterproof if I wore them in damp conditions for a very long period? I'll test that out soon enough. But they've earned at least a spot in my camping rotation for now.

3.0 out of 5 stars NOT as good as Goretex oversocks, but I will keep trying
Reviewed in Canada on 1 October 2020

I have used goretex socks (an oversock, more correctly) in African rainy seasons and river areas and they worked well. These are less comfortable and I am uncertain whether my feet were wet from permeated water or sweat, but certainly did not feel dry. I subsequently tried wearing them over a pair of socks which made them less uncomfortable and seemed to keep the foot feeling drier. So far I recommend goretex oversocks rather than these socks. I will continue wearing these socks for a few more outings to see if my conclusions remain valid and will change this narrative if I was wrong.

5.0 out of 5 stars Keeps feet absolutely dry

I wore these on a boat trip with my regular running shoes. Yes, wearing running shoes on a dredging boat was a mistake, but because of these socks, my feet remained dry and moderately warm in the freezing waters. Shoes were drenched, and you could feel the water against the sock, but nothing gets in through the sock. My go-to sock for any occasion that puts my feet at the risk of getting soaked in water or snow. 10/10

5.0 out of 5 stars Saved my trip

Went backpacking for 7 days and it rained every day. Even with goertex pants and gators and leather boots the water got in by day one. Rather than ending the trip due to soaked feet and blisters I tried these socks out. My boots stayed wet but my feet dry while I was able to hike all day with no blisters. These socks surpassed my expectations

4.0 out of 5 stars Do a satisfactory job

Cold feet in cold weather cycling year round. My feet sweat a lot in these I find. Don't breathe very well Imo.
Keep your feet dry in rain. For winter I switched to electric heated socks and will never go back. These are good for warmer weather applications.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dry feet after hiking through creeks

Nice job guys, I am an adventurer and I love hiking through the Rockies. I just tried your socks by crossing small creeks, hiking through the morning dew after a rainstorm, and sweating in my socks during long hikes. My feet were completely dry! Bet feeling ever. Highly recommended and I can't wait to try them out in many other ways.

Wore these with my running shoes on a rainy day and my toes were still wet. They weren’t as soaked as normal socks but the difference isn’t really worth the huge extra cost.

5.0 out of 5 stars They are waterproof, feel comfy and feel like they are made out of the same material as a wetsuit.

They are certainly waterproof, i stood in the shower jokingly being doubtes by my room mates , however, they made the water bead off and kept my feet far , far drier than with standard socks on.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very large

I received the size and they fit only men size 11-12. They are huge and as a result they get lots of fold. I'm a woman size 7.5. Now I'm going backpacking tomorrow and have no proper socks. Very disappointed.
