Got both the 1000 and 2000 series from Philips, and even though we were skeptical whether they worked, the air has been so bad lately in Australia that we had to do something. And YES, we noticed a difference. We tested it too .. it was reading "good" air inside, but it was smokey outside, so we opened the door for less than a minute and the Philips went into overdrive immediately sensing the smoke we'd just let in. So happy and would absolutely recommend this brand for air purifying.

Way too expensive for what it does

Bought it because it was expensive so I figured it would be good. Sadly it’s rubbish.
No remote control, only 4 fan speed modes and no way to set it up for smart fan speed for when it detects smoke and it should rev up to a higher fan speed.
Sleep mode fan noise is acceptable but anything above 2 is so loud!
When on highest fan speed it is ridiculously loud!
Replacement filters are also very expensive.

Returned it after 3 days and bought a Daikin for high was cheaper, came with remote control, auto fans and it came with free replacement filters.

I bought this for my wife and was unsure this will work or not. But thought should give ago. Yes , this works. First day i kept this inside our bed room and the door was closed. Next day morning she wake up without any block nose and without sneezing - hey fever symptoms. She said this is the first day woke up well after the spring starts.
After that we moved it to the living area which is much bigger in size. Yes it works well. But it works bit longer time to get to the lowest fan speed which is accepted.
Wish we bought this early spring where the hey fever starts.
Even though its bit expensive, worth money as you dont suffer with hey fever while inside your home.

I read so many reviews on this before purchasing and so many said the same thing. That the Philips series 2000 air purifier is life changing for hay fever/allergy sufferers. My 12 year old son has allergies and would often wake at 3am sneezing and congested, unable to get back to sleep or sleep well. He was always waking extremely tired with very puffy eyes and sinuses. Since purchasing this amazing air purifier he has slept through every night, wakes without feeling tired and has not woken once at 3am sneezing. He is sleeping deeper and without any congestion. I, like so many other reviewers believe this air purifier is a life changer. We love it and absolutely recommend it especially if you are a hay fever or allergy sufferer.

Amazing Difference for those that wake with allergies

I have spent years, both summer and winter, by waking at 3am and then spending an hour trying to get back to sleep with an instant blocked sinuses. First night turning this on, no waking and no sneezing in the morning. Even when I woke, my sinuses were clear.

Very simple to use, turn it on, set the speed, turn off the light (otherwise its quite bright) and get ready for bed. The Sleep mode is extra quiet, but if you are used to an air-conditioned or any noise, even on setting 2 will not be any problem.

So glad for this purchase, and hoping that the filters will last me more than 12 months.

Was comparing Philips 2000 with cheaper and more portable alternatives. But thought, since this purchase is meant to last for at least a decade, why invest in cheaper solution, sacrificing speed of filteration. Who knows what dusty situations you may be in 10 years.

Biggest advantage is air filter is 27x35cm. This is huge surface area to capture dust. Larger then A4 sheet of paper.

Second main advantage is it's silent sleep (SL) mode. Which produces soothing, gentle "ffffff" sound. Kind of like brown noise at low volume. With strong enough blow that it can still lift up the weight of A4 sheet of paper.

In conclusion, unit is appropriate (in my opinion) in 2 environments: (1) next to you at home, without it disturbing your studies (2) sleep.

My sleep has improved since I started using the purifier in my bedroom. I no longer wake with a blocked nose or puffy eyes.
The second unit is located in my living area. It is a part of the furniture now. I notice a significant difference in the air when I have it turned off for cleaning.

I'm happy with this product. Best value for money during the Black Friday sale. Only had it a short time & am using it for a bedroom, but it clears the air well so I can sleep without sneezing & really need it when I breathe through the mouth sometimes while I sleep. Also, appreciate the screen which indicates the level of particles in the air which is a very useful guide to when I have to clean & what may be causing the dust. Previously used a BlueAir which worked well but had the price of smoke stop filters steadily rising & approaching twice the cost with its single filter compared to the three with the Philips. Anyway happy so far.
