DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT!

I bought this item because my dog is ball crazy and it sounded like a perfect toy for him. Was planning to fill the cracks with some peanut butter or wet dog food for him to lick and keep him occupied for a while. As it turns out, the ball tastes utterly disgusting!! At first my dog was excited and eager to receive the ball. He earnestly began licking and then quickly turned away from it and refused to engage with it again. I washed it again thoroughly, removing any traces of peanut butter. Then went through the same process once again. I was completely baffled, because he loves peanut butter and he loves balls! I washed the ball thoroughly again in hot soapy water and made sure it was thoroughly dry before putting it away for a day or two. Perplexed by my dog's dislike of the ball, I decided to go all out and pretend I was going to chew on it (hoping to make it more alluring to him). It was then that I realised, the ball itself tastes horribly bitter and repulsive! I soaked the ball for 24 hours in a diluted mixture of stevia and water, hoping to alter it's bitter flavour. But even after the soaking, it retained the horrible taste. I don't know what is in it to make it taste so utterly vile. But this was a great disappointment for me and my dog. And I don't like wasting things, but I also don't feel comfortable offering it to anyone else's dog. In fact, before I gave up on using it, I asked a friend if her dogs thought it was ok. Neither of them would play with it.
It's such a great concept. But a total disappointment and waste of money. I'm concerned about all the other people and dogs who are going to experience the same disappointing outcome. I'm really still shocked to think this product is being sold, and selling well. It's revolting.
