Annie, our heroine, is supposed to be 27 but, OMG, she acts / thinks like she is a fourteen year old. She wants true love, like she sees in the movie, cue the nausea inducing touch points like the 'almost kiss' and the tripping and spraining her ankle so the H has to carry her - Seriously? How tired and old hat are these plot devices. I quickly came to despise Annie, she is the most self involved creature I've ever come across. She jumps to conclusions constantly about the Hero, and snipes at him, belittles him, she out right accuses him of ridiculous things she's read about on a gossip site, but never once stops and thinks it could be made up, or takes a moment to see what is going on right in front of her. (like I said, immature & childish) She makes a 'beyond stupid' mistake that if a male character had done to a female character would have seen them going to jail... she boo-hoos, but never really apologises for her error, instead, weirdly, the author somehow has the Hero begging for her forgiveness - say what now? At that moment I just stopped reading, Annie was so underserving of a happy ending, I refuse to read hers.
Author Kerry Winfrey needs a better editor. Actually , ANY editor would do. The plot is tiresome, as is the main character, who's truly unlikable . im going to the publisher to commit their name to memory so I don't inadvertently read another of their stories; they're certainly not LITERATURE, or even harmless escapist reading. What a disappointment .
I started this and all I wanted to do after every page was put it down. It was TOO sappy, TOO predictable, and TOO childish for an adult read. Maybe for a teen, over 13, but definitely not an adult read. You couldn't go more than 2 pages without seeing Tom Hank's name. Or 2 pages without total nonsense happening. I'm sorry I couldn't finish it, but maybe the author's next book will be better
