This sauce is really great with meat. But its not a sauce i can use everyday as the taste of truffle gets a bit too much for me if using it everyday in a row and kind of puts me off. I generally use this sauce once a week and use other chilli sauces in between.
This product definitely is what it says. It has a strong pungent truffle scent and the first hit of flavour is literally truffle which is then over taken by a hot siracha flavour. I would highly recommend if u have a few bucks to spare。
Despite it being pricier than regular hot sauce, the taste is just too good that I have to reorder the second time. I also tried the hotter version (red bottle), but I prefer this black one. It has a sweeter taste and not as hot.
I bought this expecting something a little bit spicier, and a little more peppery with just a background of truffle to round out the flavour profile. I was pleasantly surprised by how strong the truffle comes through! The pepper and spice mixture they use is delicious yet subtle, and it really lets the truffle shine. The spice is nice, about the same as a cayenne pepper sauce you can get at the supermarket, so don't expect to burn up eating this one. Highly recommend this for anyone who like the taste of crushed red peppers and truffle, and if you don't like truffle AVOID this (if you don't know what truffle smells or tastes like, don't buy this until you try truffle on its own.)
If you're here for heat, look elsewhere. If you're here for flavor, buy with confidence assuming you enjoy truffles.
This is absolutely fantastic. I couldn't say how many hot sauces I've bought and sampled over the years, but without question I'd put this in my top 5 as far as flavor is concerned. The truffle aspect is pronounced, but it's not the only thing you'll notice on the palate. I wouldn't have thought agave would go with the ingredients, but it's a nice touch, and the overall presentation is exceptional. Packaging is often an afterthought, but there is a lot of attention to detail here. The cap looking like a truffle is another distinctive factor.
A few months back, I ended up doing a hot sauce tasting with a lineup of ~12 sauces with varying scoville ratings. (Similar to hot ones) Six people participated, and five of us chose this sauce as their personal favorite. The last person placed it a close second.
Would be nice if this was a little cheaper, but it's not a local product and I get that truffle oil isn't exactly an inexpensive ingredient.
I love this line of hot sauce. I have ordered the extra hot and the white truffle direct from website took a month to arrive and shipping from California to Toronto Canada cost me $50 but quite worth it. I really wish this product was easier to access as I go through a bottle every 3 weeks.
favorite munchie snack : grilled cheese sandwich with herbs and garlic cream cheese spread and cheddar cheese a fried over easy egg on top drizzle with Truff hot sauce
It's not a burn your mouth out ot sauce sauce you use to dare your friends with. This is a flavourful hot sauce with just enough truffle in the background. It's a natural pairing with eggs and works well in a Caesar. I'll be trying their other versions too. Very high quality ingredients in this sauce, unlike some that are loaded with chemicals.
Mine did not come in a box though. The bottle was wrapped in bubble wrap. A box would've been nice for gifting.
