Again this book was written exceptionally well, this time Dan was more part of this story which was great, we caught up with Faz and Vera.
Tracy, Dan and 8 week old Daniella return home while their new place is being renovated. It doesn't take long before Tracy's old boss Ron hooks her into helping out how 3 murders might be connected as things don't add up, it causes issues as Tracy should be on maternity leave but she just can't say NO, I found her to be selfish wanting her cake and eating it to, I could understand Dan having concerns as their daughter is so young and the investigation could lead to Tracy being a target. Sometimes it just isn't the obvious and that's what I loved about this book.

3.0 out of 5 starsNot a true Tracy Crosswhite

This book has far too much "mom activity" - diaper changing, breast feeds, baby monitoring - and too much soul searching about "upsetting husband - who knew what they were taking on when they married. Lets have more detective work and less description of daily life. After reading all previous 6 Crosswhite books plus many other Dugoni novels, this book was disappointing and not up to the expected standard. Sorry, Robert.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Cold-case thriller coupled with a new set of murders to sink your teeth into.

As a 'who dunnit'/thriller fan, I enjoyed the gradual unfolding of a case set well in the past with its tentacles reaching scarily into the present. There was a slow and suspenseful build, but it delivers all the thrills and sleuthing skills that we've come to expect from any Dugoni story.

I never hesitate to buy the next book in the series. Another amazing book with twists and turns, always keep you guessing. I love the characters, the storyline and the fact it keeps you so involved to the very end. Well written, loved it.

Another entertaining chapter in the Crosswhite series. Dugoni has made us comfortable with this cast of crimefighters, yet can still weave a nuanced storyline around their lives.

As usual Robert Dugoni delivers in spades, with plot twists and interesting side pieces that link back into the main theme of the story. Enjoyed every page and will read more from this author in the future.

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. The story was riveting, as I stated in the heading. It really had a twist in the ending, who would have thought, a great read.
