4.0 out of 5 starsNot too shabby

But Jack has evolved. I like the earlier books better, where he occasionally used the 110th & other resources- and was a lot more self sufficient. The story was better than some of the more recent books, but it could have been any hero - bring back the original Jack Reacher! Some while speculation earlier in the book and then later more options were taken into account. Abby seemed to have a lot of input from someone with her background. But again the story Was easy to follow and the book easy to pick up to keep reading.

1.0 out of 5 starsThis is not jack reacher
Reviewed in Australia on 15 January 2021
Jack is a brawler, yes. But he's always used his brain as well. But now, according to this book, he's nothing but a remorseless killer, mowing down anyone who comes up against him.
The author could have had fun with this, Jack could have played off the two opposing factions. against one another with intention - and no one necessarily had to die. Problem was the author turned jack in to a battering ram of death, and even his wish to help the old couple come across as psychotic rather than defending the rights of the 'little guy'

also the waitress sleeping with Jack - her reasonings? this came off as a male author's fantasy rather than what would happen in real life.

5.0 out of 5 stars I found that in this story Reacher was much more like his old self

I hadn't kept up with Jack Reacher for a time although I have read all the books. I found they were losing their punch. Bought this one along with "The Sentinel" which I'm still to read. I found that in this story Reacher was much more like his old self - getting stuck into the baddies from the get go. Pure escapism for me but I did enjoy it. Hope it continues - now if only I could get rid of the thought of Tom Cruise from the back of my mind when reading the Reacher books.

Where would I be without Jack? This modern day Superman casts his net far and wide across America, and I'm surprised he is not invited by many States to clean up their criminal problems. "Blue Moon" was as good as most Reacher tales, but this one contained lots of subtle humour (perhaps not so subtle), as if Lee Child was acknowledging that Jack was fast approaching comic-hero status. I particularly liked the way the rival gangs took themselves out, almost laugh out loud moments.
Of course, there were some parts that were totally unrealistic, but that is the attraction of the writing, and what is wrong with a bit of fantasy!.
I will be waiting for the next Jack Reacher adventure with great anticipation.

I have read all the reacher books except the short stories as I don't like that type of novel and I have devoured them not wanting to put them down but "Blue Moon" was just brilliant I was drooling at the mouth waiting for it to arrive after pre-ordering it and I was not disappointed.I think if another movie was done about Reacher ,then Blue Moon would be the perfect storyline and get someone like the rock to play reacher as he fits the persona a lot better than the other guy.I am looking forward to the next Reacher book hoping it isn't too far away

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliantly plotted; compelling characters; good outwits evil. What's not to like?

Lee Child has done it again. Jack Reacher doing what's right in a whole new world. Lee Child has a gift for bringing the reader into hitherto unknown parts of America in this intricately plotted thriller about an unexpected gang war. As ever he teams up with a smart woman, in this case waitress Abby - this time to solve the problems of an old couple struggling with medical bills. And then it escalates. Lee Child is SUCH a romantic

I've ready every one of Lee Child's "Jack Reacher" books and have thoroughly enjoyed each and every one including this one.

If you haven't read any of his books, you need to start from the beginning and enjoy them all.

My biggest problem is that I read faster than Lee Child writes so I'm always waiting for the next "Jack Reacher" book to become available.

Thank you.

Typical Reacher, doing good deeds the Reacher way!
Lots of dead bodies that deserved to be dead. Sometimes I wish Reacher's type of justice happened in real life. Child makes this series ALWAYS good to read, and I'm always disappointed when each book ends. I don't know how he comes up with the storylines, but I hope he never runs out!

This latest book from Lee Child was exciting from page 1, it had all the usual excitement and a great supporting cast for Reacher. Plenty of Reachers usual chaos with more baddies killed than I can recall in any other Reacher book. Highly recommended.

This was a really good book. Many of the reviews said that there was too much gratuitous violence, but I thought it was entirely justified given the gang circumstances.

Sure, it got out of hand a bit, but it's a Reacher novel, what do you expect!

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable yarn

A pretty typical Reacher novel that I enjoyed from start to finish. Reacher seems to be getting increasingly vindictive these days though and oversteps the mark on occasion. Something I've noticed in the last couple of Reacher novels is that the dialogue for all the characters is pretty much the same. To me, they all seem to talk like Reacher.

He is so bad ass and brutal, but for the right cause. I also like how in his stories, he always ends up having romances with attractive bad ass women too
