The hat has good stretch, is lightweight and breathes well, making it good for even heavy workouts.
The "venting weave" on top was puckered from day one and has just gotten more and more unruly with use. What it looks like (in black) is that the hat is fraying apart, even though it's still attached as it was made. You're not going to look smooth and sleek in this, you'll look like you dug it out of a clothes hamper or garbage can. I'll update further after it's been washed a dozen times.
It's a lot more flimsy than pictured and doesn't really keep the shape shown. It also will show wrinkles. To put it on normally like I do with other hats, the top caves in. To fill it full, I have to pull it all the way down to my ears. It actually need to go down a little farther than my ears to make it show the shape as pictured and I can move my ears, so......
I was looking for a water resistant running hat for hiking/backpacking. I'm at a loss of what to buy. My hats I use now are over 10 years old. This hat looked nice, but I should have known from the price it wasn't going to be what I had hoped for. It's TOO big and not adjustable. Oh and the bill is super long. If you like to look up on a trail, don't buy this hat.
Sort of sits on top of your head with an elongated duckbill shape. Very odd-looking, at least for me. I wish someone could make a conventionally shaped cap out of very light material. Not what I was looking for.
