Need to reduce price of storage or give at least 7 or 14 days free lifetime storage like arlo... Also, no option for sd card...

Slow and useless security

I spent over 1k hoping for a good all round security layout with cameras in three locations. I am amazed that this product is sold at all.
1) You have to connect to ring.com in order to view camera footage.
2) because of 1, live feed or historical feed is slow and misses major parts of the "video" footage. So say someone walks to the front door, you see one picture at the start and the next thing they are at the door knocking, thats NOT video.
3) due to 1 and 2, there is no allowance to install and configure the cameras through your own network for fast responses.
4) when someone approaches, by the time Alexa loads the voice and video app that has to go through ring.com, they are already fed up and leave, say goodbye to your deliveries and go to the post office because Alexa can't open the app in time.

Overall, I feel that I just flushed over 1k down the toilet. After screwing the cameras to brick wall it's a task to take it all back.

There is no warnings about this product may not work as expected in Australia due to slow internet.... here's your warning.

At least, they should sell a hub connected to your local lan that acts as ring.com, that would speed things up greatly, but money hungry subscription lords have decided internet feeds only :(

Good enough for wireless cameras

These camera's are great for what they are if you are happy to have wireless camera's. I have had ring camera's for a number of years now and although I had trouble to begin with as they have updated the firm wear and app features over the years they seem to be getting better. Still not perfect but no wireless camera is going to be. it does help if you have a decent speed though. (IE: 100/20 mbps) The difference I have found is although you pay for storage which I don't mind as it will never get stolen it also includes customer service witch I have found to be really good and so far have had no issues when I have had to call them. And if they have not been able to help or find the camera is faulty they will replace for you no problem at all. Can't ask for better than that. It just takes a little time to adjust to your circumstance so if you just be patient and play around with the settings ( or ring if you need help) you will have a great camera or camera's set up.
Only one downside is battery's depending on setting need charging around every couple of month's or monthly if you set to highest level as it pick's up all motion. For me to compensate for that I just brought another battery and for every camera I have and a charging doc so they all charge the same time and usually when I'm home I have them turned off in the app so they have lasted up to 4 month's for me.

I like this ring camera, however it does not 100% capture movement. We have it installed at our staircase and it captures movement when there's light, but during night it's 50/50. I'm using most of the gadgets in the app, but still missing some smart functions - eg recognizing person. Unless it's face detected (what almost never did its job), it captures movement. Installation was fairly easy, but it took ages for camera to be updated after turning on (no, it's not 15min as app says, it was each time at least 45min). Also I wasn't sure what blue blinking meant, so I needed to google - it would be easier if those instructions were somewhere handy on leaflet. We use this camera every day and we are fairly happy with it, but it's definitely not the best security camera ever. I think you get what you paid for.

Great standard cam for indoor use

This cam is nice for its portability and ease of use/install. The RING platform can be a little laggy at times accessing the actual view or alert, and whilst night vision works okay, it is only effective a few metres from the camera. The picture quality in day is excellent and alerts/movement detection works very well when light is present. The battery lasts ages, so you are only charging once a few months for me.

It would be great if you could control the direction of view, like a PTZ, and also be able to configure to deactive the motion detection lights at the front of the camera, so I could place it in baby or kids bed and avoid freaking them out when they wake to a bunch of lights like eyes in the middle of the night.

Good value, seems reliable enough.

Fairly happy with these indoor cameras considering the price paid. Installation took a bit longer than indicated but otherwise the camera/app setup was straightforward - would've been much better if the batteries arrived charged though. Picture quality is decent and the app is easy to use. However, I find the motion detection to be hit and miss, even when I turn the sensitivity to maximum - it often misses movement or doesn't record until several seconds later.
