2.0 out of 5 stars Brake Pedal is just awful - buy something else
Reviewed in Australia on 12 January 2022
Firstly the positives;
-They are decent value if you can get them at a good price, they often dip down to $300AUD.
-Construction is ok, nothing amazing but ok.
-Decent adjustability with regards pedal faces etc

That’s about it as far as I’m concerned.

I’ve been lucky enough to use a huge variety of pedals over the past few years, from G29, T3PA-Pro all the way to top end Heuskinveld’s.

I needed an upgrade around the release time of the T-LCM so bought these as I couldn’t afford the Fanatec V3’s at the time, this was a mistake and I wish I had waited, my first set developed a very loud creaking noise under braking that I couldn’t rectify, they were swapped without too much hassle which was good.

The brake pedal on the T-LCM is just awful, it does not feel like any brake pedal I’ve ever used, the springs are way too soft even with the stiffest combination of red+washers+red.

It is so easy to bottom out both red springs with them attached to a rig that it just feels like using potentiometer pedals, you don’t get a sensation of progressive pressure based braking until you hit the bottom of the springs travel and you are against the load cell, it then becomes pressure based however there is a very two stage feel to the brake pedal, it does not feel progressive at all and makes braking feel very unnatural.

There are mods available for them which use rubber elastomers like the majority of other loadcell pedals, apparently they improve the braking feel however cost somewhere around $70AUD, at this point the cost is well in excess of their main competitor, the new Fanatec CSL load cell pedals.

Just order the Fanatec CSL’s, every review I’ve seen says they are the better pedal set in every regard.

Maybe the softer feel of the T-LCM pedals works for people without rigs to hard mount, but if you are upgrading from potentiometer pedals there is a solid chance you will be disappointed by these as the progressive braking feel a loadcell can provide just is not there with the spring setup the T-LCM uses.

Other gripes, throttle pedal is very weak and has noticeable side to side movement with its stock spring, I swapped mine with the clutch spring as I don’t really use it.

To summarise, T-LCM’s are let down by the design choice to use springs, they need something stiffer as the pedal arm angle creates extra leverage resulting in a very soft, non progressive brake feel, either be prepared to mod the brake pedal or buy something else, they aren’t very good.

1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't last long beyond the year warranty
Reviewed in Australia on 30 November 2021
TLDR This is sold as Thrustmaster's 'Premium' pedal set, buyer beware given the support for this product by Thrustmaster in Australia/NZ once warranty expires.

I bought a set of these August 2020 as I almost exclusively used Thrustmaster products and initially everything was great.
Within 3 months the brake pedal started having a play when being released , which at least could be fixed by tightening a set screw on the bottom of the unit.
6 months the pedal faces started wearing through (I race barefoot or with socks), so much so that I had to drill out the old screws and buy new ones to replace the provided screws, but this was something I could live with.
Also around the same time I started hearing creaking from the base and some of the screw holes had cracked (my pedal set is hard mounted in my rig with 4 screws) and I could not understand why this was happening.
Last nail in the coffin started 2 weeks ago in mid Nov 2021 (~3 months after the warranty expired) as the throttle pedal kept on getting stuck between 50-80%. I had to fully unplug an re-plug the pedal set in which only sorted it for a few minutes and then the symptom would return. I obviously contacted the Thrustmaster support and they provided an firmware update which actually made things worse.
Then I requested to have the device fixed (either selling me the part) or sending it in for repair. Below is the response I got from Thrustmaster...

We inform you that we do not sell the PCB of the T-LCM separately as it requires to be changed at our workshop due to the internal calibration software that has to be run after replacement.
However, we have no official repair center servicing your country, and thus are unfortunately not able to help you further.

In short, I now have a doorstop with what should be a simple fix going to become more e-waste on a dump as Thustmaster provides little/no support for any repairs once this is out of warranty

Very well made product but warning the pedals has a trj 12 connection which maybe fine to fit into your PS4 or Xbox. If you wish for it to fit your PC then you more and likely will need a trj 12 USB adapter.

Product was delivered on time and was an absolute bargain. The best upgrade to the GT steering/pedal combo by Thrustmaster. I can really feel the brakes on it. Get it! The seller was also absolutely professional. Can highly recommend them...

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome! Just Awesome!

These are serious pedals for serious sim racers. The use of a load cell, like all the Professional manufacturers, Fanatec, Heusinkveld etc proves it’s the best solution to creating a brake pedal that feels like an actual race car.
Unlike the potentiometers used in cheaper models, which operate based on pedal position, the load cell works on pressure applied, like an actual brake pedal. This allows for more braking consistency due to memory muscle so you hit your braking markers accurately each time and see your lap times fall.
The pedals are super easy to set up. At the time of writing this there was no firmware upgrade, but they worked perfectly connected to my TX servo base and needed nothing but simple calibration using the Thrustmaster calibration software. You absolutely must do this because there’s a choice of springs to set the brake pedal strength and then you will want to set the pressure at which you find braking comfortable.
If I had a small criticism, it would be the softness of the clutch and accelerator. I would definitely like these stiffer and will seek stronger springs to make them feel a little more real. There’s likely to be countless modifications when these pedals have been around a while.
Overall these are amazing for the money. Check out the countless YouTube reviews praising the value for money and your mind will be made up. There’s no load cell pedals available at this price point and the fact they’re so difficult to source when writing this, proves their popularity is justified.
In conclusion I’d say you’re not going to fail to be impressed by these pedals. They really are a fantastic addition to any sim rig and will last a very long time before you’ll want to upgrade. Especially as you witness your lap times fall.

1.0 out of 5 stars So disappointing

I had high hopes for Thrustmaster, despite having had a bricked Warthog throttle and joystick in the past,I didn't think I could be unlucky again.Wrong. I just dropped a fair bit of cash on the TLCM pedals, TGT 2 base,Sparco handbrake, the th8a shifter and the 310 mod wheel.
I want to use it on PS4 as it should be more straight forward than faffing around with PC...Right?
On a wheel base designed for and licensed by PlayStation...RIGHT??
As with my previous encounter with TM products ,nothing is straight forward.
Nothing just works.I've update the firmware but the wheel base refuses to 'see' the pedals when connected to the rj12.
Connect them to the PC with the USB and there they are. Connect them back to PS/ base via rj12...nothing.
I've been at this for hours now. I haven't even bothered unboxing the new shifter.
G29 back on the rig.
It's clunky and unsophisticated but by heavens it works and is reliable.
It's been an expensive lesson ,but I'm done finally with Thrustmaster.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally feels natural
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 August 2020

Ive owned a Logitech Driving Force GT, Logitech G29, T-150 pedals, T-300RS, T3PA pedals and whilst enjoyable, none of the pedals have felt natural whatsoever or come close to replicating my experiences in a range of road cars.

I’ve never driven a race car but I found the brakes quite remarkable coming from the other sets. Rather then measuring pedal travel, the load cell simulates the pressure sensitivity of a hydraulic pedal. This simulation took between 1-3 seconds of my lap times and the consistency was night and day versus the aforementioned pedals. It was important to make sure there wasn’t any flex or movement on the pedals as that really upset any consistency.

These pedals are 10/10 in this price range, however they are totally eclipsed further up the range. I eventually upgraded to Heusinkveld Ultimates, which are simply unbelievable.

If you’re looking to improve realism, the TLCM are a great step in that direction. If budget allows, I’d recommend heading straight to Heusinkveld Sprints or Ultimates as the difference, accuracy and enjoyment is enormous and I’ve seen that often people end up there after buying load cells from Thrustmaster and Fanatec.
