Pros - lightweight - packs up small - easy to inflate/deflate and adjust firmness. Warm to sleep on/well insulated - which means you can use a lighter weight sleeping bag - saving weight and space in rucksack.
Cons - very slippy - for a better nights sleep - I used a sleeping bag liner and put the mat inside it, with my sleeping bag used as a quilt over me - which made it better. It's very narrow (no use if larger than a slim person or someone who moves a lot at night). Would strongly suggest getting a wider one for the extra few grams weight.
good, easy to inflate, packs small but a bit too narrow at both ends. I’m 5’8”, 150lbs. you’ll also slip off if your on anything other than level ground, get something that’s wide - I’d recommend something 1.5 to 2 times the width of this
Deflated on carpet. I heard a pop and sure enough... A three quarter inch tear perfectly straight. I really needed this pad to work and I hike 64 miles tomorrow. Company hasn't contacted me back. I don't hike with any sharp objects either. It wasn't cut. It literally popped while deflating and I heard it. After 107 miles and it pops on carpet with customer service unresponsive id invest in another pad. I would provide pics but I had to patch it immediately for my hike. Ill update if they get back to me. On the plus side, it's the most comfortable pad i've ever slept on with a great weight. Too bad mine had poor durability and I cant get help from the company. They also have a good patch kit. but i didn't pay for a patch kit.
Deflated on the first night I used it! I have to take it in the shower, suds it up, and try to find the leak. Hopefully, I can repair it myself so I won’t have to send it out anywhere. Little ticked that you buy an almost $200 pad and it deflates before you can even try it out properly.
I got one for my wife and myself. Light, easy to inflate, very comfortable, but one of them leaked. Tried to patch and that leaked. I guess it's hard to make it light and sturdy at the same time. Will try a different brand for next purchase to see if better quality.
Bulletin stated "Measures 72x20x2.5 inches inflated, packs to 9x4.1 inches, and weighs 12 ounces; pump sack, stuff sack and repair kit included; made in the USA." The product came without the pump sack, stuff sack and repair kit and was most definitely not made in the United States if you read the label. This is bad business to short your customer on items they paid for.
If you don't move at all when you sleep this is a great mat. But I am a side sleeper and have a tendency to end up on my back when I sleep. The problem is it is barely wide enough for my shoulders to begin with. Even rolling from side to back drops me off of the side and my feet are even worse. If you sleep on your back or even stomach this mat is great but if you're a side sleeper like me you won't make a single night without falling off of this mat.
Took me a very long time to plug in the pump sack; the connector doesn't quite fit. After trying out, I had hard time to unplug it, and ended up left the valve piece in the sack. Anyways, I will do without the pump sack. Winglock valve is great! Like the packed size and light weight. Haven't tried in the freezing cold temperatures yet, so can't comment on the R value.
