Got this after seeing it on Dark Horse Rowing. I was always clumsy about where my phone was during a rowing session, especially with the follow along videos. Was under the impression that a phone holder is a phone holder is a phone holder. Glad to have been proven wrong with that. The silicon material is an absolute win, and doesn't feel like it is going to break like the plastic holders.
There are cheaper alternatives out there, but I am glad I went with this one and would really highly recommend it.
This is overpriced. Should be £5-8. It arrived damaged, with a small part missing. iPhone 11 with a normal sized case (Otterbox Commuter) won’t fit inside the top hook, and instead the hook presses on the edge of the case, and looks like the phone might fall out. It’s also heavier than it should be. Unfortunately there’s only this or the official option, which is worse. Hopefully someone will design a better one soon, with a simple adjustable jaw and better quality manufacturing. Hard to screw up something this simple but yeah. Disappointing.
Saw this initially on Shane Farmer’s “Dark Horse Rowing”. It fits perfectly on top of the PM5 monitor and I then fit in the iPhone 6 that I use with ErgIQ,. As the arm that holds the phone in place is flexible I would imagine that the Max version of the iPhones would also fit in there. I bought the standard black version but there is also acid green and fluoro pink as well which match in with Concept 2 seat covers that the same company makes. There are cheaper, hard plastic versions of phone holders for Concept 2 monitors but when you think of how much the phone costs and how this item holds it securely, it’s well worth the money.
It holds my phone in place very securely, and simply slots on top of a PM5. I was worried it might fall off when I started rowing, but it’s very secure and doesn’t budge even when I’m going all out! The material is a very durable high quality rigid silicone. Although it’s quite expensive for what it is, I’d highly recommend this to anyone who uses their phone while rowing. (I originally purchased the Concept2 phone holder, but it down’t fit “Max” size iPhones. This product CAN hold an iPhone 11 Pro Max (with a silicone case fitted too)).
Does the job perfectly. Fits nicely on top of the rowing display unit. Holds my Note 9 without a problem. A little pricey for what it is but could not find a more suitable product for less. All in all happy with my decision. Would recommend if price is not a deciding factor.
When I placed on the PM5 I thought it felt a little loose, as in easy to remove. However, once my phone was in there the top pushes back making the fit snug. You can tell it isn't going to fall off and the phone will not fall out.
