This is overpriced. Should be £5-8. It arrived damaged, with a small part missing. iPhone 11 with a normal sized case (Otterbox Commuter) won’t fit inside the top hook, and instead the hook presses on the edge of the case, and looks like the phone might fall out. It’s also heavier than it should be. Unfortunately there’s only this or the official option, which is worse. Hopefully someone will design a better one soon, with a simple adjustable jaw and better quality manufacturing. Hard to screw up something this simple but yeah. Disappointing.
The rower I use at work doesn't have the straight backing that is required to use this phone holder. The holder has all the good things pointed out by others, but I couldn't get it to fit on the rower. If there is a way to move the monitor up or down without using a screwdriver, I would have been quite happy with the product. But the arm that holds the monitor on the rower I use starts at the top of the monitor and doesn't provide the straight back needed for the holder to fit. Ah well.
The holder fit will on the rowing machine (but not quite as snugly as I would have liked), but it is designed for phones without any case (or at least with a very slim case). I have an iPhone 6 in an Otter Box case, and it did not fit well in the holder. The holder gripped my phone okay, but it put enough pressure on it that it caused the screen protector part of my case to warp, thus distorting my view of the screen. Also, it was a little cumbersome to get the phone into the holder so that it would hold it adequately. Given the poor fit of my phone in its case and the slightly loose fit of the holder on the rowing machine, it was actually easier to take the holder off of the rower, put the phone into it, and put the holder back onto the rower with the phone in it. All in all, this is what I would expect from a $4 holder. This item is WAY over priced and only works marginally well.
