Cute but the makeup is useless

All the items and the bag was cute, and the price is fine, but the makeup isnt great, you cant even tell you're wearing it. I get that it's makeup for kids so it's not supposed to be heavy or messy, but you would still want to see SOMETHING. I gave it to my little niece and she was so excited to use it only to get super disappointed when she tried to give me a makeover and couldn't see any of the makeup she was trying to put on. The only sign anything was happening was a sparkle here and there. I guess if your kid doesn't mind that the makeup does, like, nothing, then they'll love it.

Its not real makeup - play set for little kids. I should have read the description better. I got this for my 9yo daughter because she doing her own makeup & getting dressed up fancy. She was so excited to get the kit and was then super bummed to see that the make-up is not really real. The bag is very cute and great quality. The brushes are cute and nice quality too & the lip gloss is semi real - shiny gloss but no color. For the cosmetics they are very weird - they are a cosmetic product and look like cute colors but the powders are so hard and they do not have any color on the face at all and the lipstick feels like plastic. Its a cute pink color that would be great but it has absolutely no color and just feels like a hard grease on the lips. The nail polished smelled real & brushed on ok but the color was so very light when applied - would prob take 5 coats to really get any color to show. Very strange. Anyways - the mermaid bag and brushes are super cute & good quality, lip gloss is shiny and goes on well. The rest of the makeup is junk unless you are getting this for a little little girl to play at putting "makeup" on.

This make-up kit is as advertised - something for children. Make It Up, the company behind this product, markets the product as pretend play, even as the make up is real. It isn't high quality and may disappoint older children, but for those too young to know the difference, it is a decent enough product. I'm not a fan of a stater kit of makeup for young girls, but that's just me.
