5.0 out of 5 starsHope for the hopeless...
Reviewed in Australia on 5 January 2021
This beautiful love story is also an in-depth analysis of the people who are born into the families that are not just broken, but sometimes destroyed by their choices and circumstances. The voice of the children who are drowning in the depths of the chaos surrounding their lives is very confronting. However, hope finds a way to give both life, and the possibility of love that endures and matures through a new chapter in these young hearts on the cusp of adulthood. I could relate to the protagonist as she determines to forge her own path and leave behind the past to give herself the opportunity of a better future. Enjoy!

More like a romance novel than a mystery. But a good read . Gets a little bit too mushy and everything works out so rosey and perfect . Not exactly real life , but a good escape an ok book

5.0 out of 5 stars How have I not read this woman's work before now??

I'm ashamed to say that Colleen Hoover is a new author for me. Not for long.
Heart Bones was a truly wonderful story. Different, engaging and with a plot line that keeps you turning pages. Beyah and Samson are a wonderful couple. The ending is straight from left-field which was terrific. Who doesn't love a great ending? What keeps the pages turning however, is Colleen's writing style. How she burrows into her characters and their hearts. Careful, she'll get yours too.

“Don’t worry. Hearts don’t have bones. They can’t actually break.”

Far out, honestly I don’t feel like this even needs a review. Queen Hoover does it again. I’m not a cryer but every damn time she gets me with the ugly crying. This book is so beautifully broken. From the moment I started I couldn’t stop. Thank you @colleenhoover .

Beyah created her own life. Worked her ass off to pave the way for college and get her out of her mothers trailer. Her mother is an addict and her father has hardly anything to do with her. She’s always been alone. But now she’s really has nothing.

She is homeless and has 2 months until she goes to penn state on a full scholar ship that she got on her own. She calls her father and he books her a flight right away. Beyah leaves her life behind her and joins her father, step mother and sister in Texas in their summer home on the beach.

Everything’s fine until she meets Samson and from the moment he met Beyah he knew she was broken because he was too. They are sad and after judging each other they begin to see the cracks in their first thoughts. They know it can’t go anywhere beside they are both leaving but staying in the shallow end doesn’t mean you can’t drown.

This was a really sweet, deep read. Lots of anguish but not the sort that has you depressed while reading. Deep themes and wonderfully executed as always.

Colleen never disappoints..... ever. I’m at a point where I don’t even read the synopsis of her books. I know either way I’ll love it. Heart Bones was just like that. I loved it, and I didn’t even know what it was going to be about. That’s all I have to say.

This product is defective, presumably during printing/binding.
Have not heard back yet. Be VERY weary that you may also receive a defective copy and zero response to contact.
