1.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointed
Reviewed in the United States on 26 October 2021

I have purchased all of the Weird School books for my grandson, and he absolutely loves them. Thank goodness I read this book before giving it to him. The book is a mouthpiece for the political left to push their climate change agenda on young children. At the end of the book, the author encourages your child to tell their parents to vote for politicians who support this agenda as well as contacting politicians by writing letters and starting a petition. This is the last Dan Gutman book I will purchase. I am tired of the left trying to indoctrinate our young children. I wish I could give this less than one star.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointing

We have always been fans of the My Weird School books and have blown through them all. Graphic novels don't lend themselves to the Weird School book format well. There are also obvious mistake like Andrea saying "Woo-Hoo No School" that jumped out to my kid right away.
In addition - the overt political nature of the story and especially the close at the end ruined this for me. Typical global warming message in the book was one thing. The book literally tell the kids to tell their parents who to vote for at the close. These would be kids reading a cartoon book - and the author thinks it appropriate to undermine parental relationships for his politics. Brainwash the kids. The people that do that are aways on the right side of history - right?

I thought "Mr. Corbett Is in Orbit" was an excellent book! It is a great book for kids that don't like to read. It puts a fun and interesting twist on reading. I really liked that it had NASA as one of the main details. I hope Mr. Gutman will make more graphic novels. I love his regular books, but liked this one even more because it's in full color and more detailed illustrations by Jim Paillot. - Luci S. age 10

5.0 out of 5 stars Funny and entertaining book! Great graphic novel for this series.

My 12 year old son has been reading the ‘My Weird School’ book series for years. He still always wants the newest one when it comes out to see what his favorite characters are up too. This is the first graphic novel for these characters and it does not disappoint. The story is funny, especially if you have read prior ones in the series. My son and I read it together and laughed many times. The illustrations really bring the characters and the story to life. Great book for younger readers too! Get them started on this one, then check out the short chapter books in the My Weird School series.

Mr. Corbett is in Orbit is a five plus star read! Dan Gutman and Jim Palliot make an incredible team. The graphic novel is funny and entertaining! If you’ve read other My Weird School books you’ll especially enjoy this one as it reiterates all your favorite characters and sayings. My children (ages 3, 5, & 8) had the biggest smiles on their faces and laughed so hard reading this book. They love the sense of humor and the incredible illustrations. This is definitely a new favorite in our home library. My kids and I would highly recommend this graphic novel as well as Dan Gutman’s other books! He is a great author who captures kids attention and sucks them in to his books in his own creative way.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kids Who Love the “My Weird School” series will go crazy for the new Graphic series!
Reviewed in the United States on 10 January 2021

A great beginning to the Graphic version of the beloved “My Weird School” series. Kids who are wild about the chapter book series will no doubt be anxiously waiting for each new addition to the graphic series. It is just as silly as the chapter books, but the colorful illustrations really add to the fun. It has the potential to be one of the best graphic series for kids in the earlier elementary grades.

5.0 out of 5 stars Graphic Novel indeed-Nice Upgrade!

My 5 and 7 year old love this funny book series, and now they love it even more. The illustrations make the book so much more appealing to readers this age, especially the ones who don't like to read too much. This new version (Graphic Novel) of this series is also easier for my children to read on their own because it is less text heavy. It's more like a comic book. My children love comic books. I hope this new Graphic Novel version is just one of many to come. I

My son is a huge fan of the My Weird School series - and was thrilled to dive into the graphic novel version, as well. He absolutely loved it and laughed out loud the whole way through. Another excellent collaboration between Dan Gutman and Jim Paillot - and we are already eagerly anticipating the next.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book, even as nostalgia for past series readers!

Like all of Dan Gutman’s books, my daughters loved this! While they have outgrown the My Weird School series, they couldn’t resist the graphic novel. And it didn’t disappoint! They’ve “known” AJ and his friends since they were in first grade and started reading about them. Mr. Gutman’s read-a-louds last summer reminded them of their old friends they hadn’t read about in a few years. This graphic novel was another great reminder of their early reading adventures.

Approved for giggles and nostalgia by my 5th and 6th grade avid readers!

I’m an elementary librarian at a public school and my kiddos love Dan Gutman books and especially My Weird School. So when I heard he had a graphic novel out I had to order it! Delivery came quickly once the book was released and students are already checking it out!! Fun story and I love how the author continues to share his love for reading and writing books!
