I love this stuff and drink entirely too much of it. It's past time for the big fast-food chains to offer sugar-free drinks like this instead of the only sugar-free options being water or heavily caffeinated colas. I realise the main issue is the heavily subsidised sales by the BIG 2 soft drink brands to these outlets, but it's time for the customers needs to be met. At .55c a can these are a flavoursome bargain.

Price is right, but was hard to digest, too acidic?

The price is right, the flavour is good too. But found it hard to digest. As if it were too acidic or something. I would try the regular diet lemonade over this if you have a sensitive digestive system.

Kirks sugar free lemon squash actually tastes better than Diet Solo which is more expensive! I think the clever people at Coca-Cola in Australia have got the combination of artificial sweeteners just right so there's no nasty after-taste. Perhaps it's the use of Neotame (e961) that makes the difference?

For health reasons I've made the switch to sugar free soft drinks and having been familiar with the taste of the regular version of Kirk's Lemon Squash I was pleasantly surprised to find the sugar-free version tasting virtually identical to the regular version, without any of the artificial sweetener aftertaste I typically expect from sugar free drinks. The fact that it's also both delicious and cheap makes it a great purchase if you want a sugarless alternative to regular soft drinks.
