A Big Disappointment

I know that many people regard this as a touching film, but I'm afraid that after the stabbing of the bull no amount of sentiment could bring my attention back into focus. I'm aware that the child beating, half-starved horses, and so forth, are all meant to add a realistic antidote to some of the maudlin scenes, but it didn't work for me.

Disappointed that the disc did not work

I had watched this film a long time, and I really enjoyed it. So I wanted to introduce it to my children and watched it together as a family as we could not find the film on Amazon Prime. We decided to buy the film on Blue Ray instead so that we could watch it whenever we would like to. However, unfortunately one of the discs - main disc - did not work. You could imagine that we were so disappointed.

Not really my type of film . then why did I buy It? Because a review said it included the sound track music, which was what I was really interested in and because it is a 2 disc edition I believed the review. This version DOES NOT INCLUDE SOUNDTRACK MUSIC . So thanks to this erroneous review I went to the extra expense of buying the soundtrack cd and ended up with a dvd I didn't particularly want.

Beide Blurays enthalten lediglich eine Tonspur in italienischer Sprache. Bei den technischen Angaben von Amazon wird italienisch, deutsch und englisch angegeben. DAS IST FALSCH!!! Beim Versand, der Filmqualität sowie dem HD-Bild gibt es nichts zu mäkeln (super)

Schaut man hier auf das Amazon-Angebot, fällt auf: sämtliche fremdsprachigen Veröffentlichungen dieses Meisterwerks (vor allem aus Großbritannien) kommen in prächtiger Aufmachung und üppiger Ausstattung daher! Eine sogar als 4-Disc-Edition!
Da fehlt natürlich auch nicht die Langfassung des Films.
Nur die deutschen Kinofans schauen mal wieder in die sprichwörtliche Röhre - ausser einem kurzen Interview mit Tornatore, Noiret und Salvatore Cascio (spielte den kleinen Toto) findet sich nicht viel auf dieser Disc. Auch das Cover finde ich mäßig.
Ich vermute: Als sog. "Arthouse"-Titel verkauft sich dieser Film einfach zu mäßig, als das man in die deutsche DVD-Veröffentlichung noch viel Geld investieren möchte. Ich hoffe, bei einer erneuten Veröffentlichung in der Zukunft, gibt man sich hier mehr Mühe.
